BTW we do a mix of reduced/coupon off branded items and own store value items (or normal range items with extremely good offers), I'd love to take advantage of the warburtons offer but as all the warburtons bread has soya in thats a no-no for us. I use mysupermarket now and use whichever supermarket is cheapest (sadly ASDA does not deliver here) but when we used to use Ocado I'd get at least £80 off a £250 shop through offers (once got £80 off a shop of £140!), which were mainly on waitrose own brand stuff, unless offers on premium brands ended up cheaper which they did sometimes do xx
  • I've saved so much money lately using coupons. The Burgess coupons were brilliant for our two greedy guinea pigs - made their food and hay pretty much half price so stocked up for a while, and worked out much cheaper than the own brand pet shop stuff. The Philadelphia coupons have been handy as well - when I used the £1 off coupon, it was on offer for £1 at Tesco anyway - which made it free. That and some crackers did my lunches for a while!
Its true that a lot of coupons are for stuff that I wouldn't normally buy, but I've found it's definately worth looking through them all as I've saved a lot from them (my Pets at Home shop went from something like £25 down to £11 when I used a few coupons in there!)

I'm always checking for coupons before I do my food shopping now and my housemate is doing the same, trying to persuade others to do it too!

I've just read the thread about battling for the whoopsies instore and I know there is a recession on and we all want to save money , personally I do like to use coupons and save money of course but its not THE most important thing for me and I take it with a pinch of salt as there are always the value brands to fall back on etc and I'm not going out of my way to save a couple of pounds on the regular when my supermarket is a bus ride away anyway ( so costs me what I save ) and surprisingly I often have better things to do so my internet shopping for food etc is done and dusted every fortnight , so then it is out of the way and I can do / concentrate on other things eg my coupons OFTEN go out of date before I get to use them but its no big deal , I still enjoy using them when I can and a nice relaxed approach to it all rather than being 'coupon frenzied' and of course breaking the T&C'S when it is one per person or using it on the wrong product ,well that is down to your morals but the more people who go overboard with coupons and take the **** the less couponing everyone can do - Hence the so called 'trouts' ( a term I don't agree with if they are just following the companies rules! ) putting a stop to valid couponing , so enjoy it while you can as they are cracking down and I agree , it looks like the extreme couponers here have now turned to stalking the whoopsie counters! :rotfl:

I've lived in the states too and so dissapointed that the UK really doesn't "do" coupons. There are so few around here and most folk get treated like criminals in the UK by SA's when we try to use them!
