what do people think of this programme its on discovery real time? will we ever be able to get printed coupons like that here as its american
  • I watched that the other night, the stockpile some of those women had was amazing, not sure i'd want to spend 8 hours doing my grocery shopping like they did, and i wouldnt have room in my car for all those goodies but it would be nice if we could get more printable coupons here, seemed like an awful lot of hard work having to work out all the deals and you'd need a degree in mathematics, but they managed to get hundreds of dollars worth of stuff for free !

This thread is going to be locked probably as there are already several on the same subject. But bottom line is this show is faked for the cameras; many of the bundles and bundles of coupons they use on the show are counterfeit and thanks to this show American stores have tightened up their policies making saving more than 10-15% virtually impossible. Don't believe everything you see on TV. Most of my friends are in the states and apart from one friend who lives in Missouri which seems to be very liberal when it comes to coupon policies and so she saves a lot; those living in other states save less than I do and ask how I do it. Also the printable coupons in the US are worse than here (stuff like save 40p if you buy SIX yoghurts or for offers we'd get in store anyway here such as buy one get one free) and they generally don't have PDF coupons either. It does upset me that people in the UK idolise this show and couponing in the US in general; when the grass isn't always greener on the other side xx

Can't see paper coupons taking off over in the UK, particularly given the push towards mobile shopping. I think its more likely that people will be redeeming coupons or vouchers by swiping their mobile phone at the point of sale in the shop. Saves having to carry around a huge wad of paper coupons in your wallet.
  • Im addicted to watching Extreme couponing US, so recently decided to give couponing in the uk a go.

    After using -

    groupon.co.uk
    myvouchercodes.co.uk
    hotukdeals.com
    vouchercodes.co.uk
    voucherseeker.co.uk

I finding it hard to find anything even like the coupons they get in the US

(Oh i did find coupons for Morrison but as they were nearly 12 months out of date that didnt help me much )

Please can someone help put me on the right path.
Are there people in the uk even couponing?? :p

    I've been Money Tipped!
..............and when you get the coupons, try and use with the lowest priced offers (where possible) for maximum value.
Also save the re-usable ones (pdf coupons) as they are often withdrawn.

Also, bear in mind that we don't have the same kind of offers that Extreme Couponing USA shows! Most I've managed is £35 coupons savings against a £160 shop ... but that did include a £5 off £20 clothing deal in Tesco and 3 x £3 off dishwasher tablets.

Get yourself a Facebook account ... doesn't matter what name you put it in ... it's just to get coupons! And sign up to Supersavvyme too! They often have £1 off coupons for laundry stuff ... all well worthwhile.

    Good luck!

Cos how can you be gloomy, when the sun shines out your bum? :D
  • I love that show too, especially when they end up with a negative balance!
They just don't allow the same offers over here to be like them though.
    1,2 & 5p: Christmas day food £9.31
    10 & 20p: misc savings £2.70
    50p: Christmas presents £3.50
    £2: holidays £2.00
  • where do you watch this show bet ill end up wanting to move to america
