  • Yes Sethsgran - Ebay. They are coming from China (had stuff from China before) so will probably take two weeks and are only 6-8mm (size needed for project). They are multi coloured and cost only £2. Can post on the quality etc when I get them if this helps?
  • made this at a class in Aberdeen

That is gorgeous! I want it. Well done :T
  • thats very pretty:T

    black & white
i just got 500 tiny bells (so i am wondering if they are the same)
    mines really were V tiny
yesterday i strung all 500 to see how much space they would take up, they would be ideal for small hearts but i would guess, and it is only a guess, you would get 3 x 3" hearts from them

It probably is the same lot of bells - especially if they have come from China! 3 hearts would still be good (bells were cheap) as this is my first time 'belling' (dont know what the term would be?). :rotfl::rotfl:
  • 500 tiny bells (well 498, 2 had no holes):D

this heart is a bit over 3" i just layed it in a shape and was the smallest that would stay, so i think you would get 3 from 500 this size

  • i got mine from ebay too (.com/china)

i will make a wired heart and see how it looks
the colours lend themselves to christmas
i am waiting on bigger all silver bells

but i got this from lakeland for under £3

  • Thank you for that! Those pictures give me a good idea of what I will be getting so no disapointments. The 'design' I saw said use 6mm bells, just didnt know how small they would be (even though I should have just looked at a ruler).

How small would you say the holes are? I still need to get the wire but dont know what thickness to get. Thank you.
  • those are 6mm bells
    the holes are VERY small
you are gonna have to use the very smallest gauge you can get away with while it will still retain its shape unless you wire them onto thin wire, then attach to a heart shape of thicker gauge (thats how the lakeland one is done)
  • had a go at making a heart/christmas tree decoration
not keen on it at all:(
but thought i would see what it would look like
i used very thin wire, so made the shape by putting the middle matryoshka bead in so i could pull the top down to form the heart
and formed the bottom by putting a tiny 2mm split ringover one bell to hold it in a peak

That's beautiful, can I ask where you did the class? I'm in Aberdeenshire and have been trying to find some good craft classes. There is only lacemaking here.x
