  • Sorry I have no idea hope someone can help.

Any particular reason you want to move? x

The area isn't very nice and more importantly I have some relatives nearby that are driving me nuts. Absence makes the heart grow fonder and all that ;)
As God is my witness, as God is my witness they're not going to lick me. I'm going to live through this and when it's all over, I'll never be hungry again

Im hoping thats true :p If all goes well I will be moving 300 miles away, and as much as I dont get on with my mum etc Im worried Ill regret it once I've moved
  • somebody needs to nail the furniture down. If I walk past anything and dont like it it ends up on ebay for 99p :rotfl:The amount of tat I'm selling is amazing. Its one way to avoid the ironing I guess :o

My spreadsheet obsession is getting a little scary. Every time I think I can squeeze a couple of quid out of something it goes off the credit card and the spready. With some serious scrimping I think I can get debt free by the end of October now. I need to get really good at not spending money for that to happen though :o:rotfl:

  • The cogs have been whirring in my teeny brain

My credit card is down to £4,800 now and total debt of £5,200 . The card is on at 0% for about another 18 months and I'm rushing at the minute to get it paid off as quickly as possible.

I wonder if there is any merit in setting up a regular saver (the nice high interest first direct one) that will get me to the amount I need in 12 months when I'll still be on 0% (keeping minimum payments going too) but I can use the spare money each month to build up a bit of an emergency fund and make some inroads into the mortgage. This would make about another £150 in interest on the cc bit alone and the capital would always be there if I did need to suddenly pay the card.

    Am I being dim?

    Thank you :)

Yes things are alot better now :) First time in my life I've been this "ok" x
  • Well the savings account is set up, foolishly I didnt read the terms and the bank have taken the first months payment now when I wanted it to be payday but never mind - I'll try and square it up over the next few months. Hopefully that will mean that all the debt is offset with savings by the end of the year and I've paid a couple of grand off the mortgage.

Fortunately now I have a goal to work towards and I can't see me going back to the days of ridiculously high spending and the accumulation of 'stuff' for the sake of it. I've worked too hard now to go back there again and will finally be getting somewhere financially this year :D

Hello stopping by to check everythings ok :) x
  • Yes good thanks. Got my head down and getting on with things. Not much to report sadly - total debt is just a sliver over £5k now.

Keep poring over my spreadsheets to see if I can magic up some money but not much yet :rotfl::rotfl:

    Hope you are well?
