I love the idea of using the piggy bank - think I might try that one as well!Pay One Debt 2012! challenge #67 - £235.07 / £375.18 :T0

Sorry to hear about your cousin Peabody, thank god its nothing more sinister than a broken leg!
Good news about the £20 back though - chuck it at the credit card!2019 will be my year!!0 -
Hope your cousin is OK
DH and I did the £ for a lb weightloss thing and it worked really well doing it together. whatever i lost he had to pay me and vice versa and if I gained I had to pay him the money i put on. It really helped friendly competition and motivated us both. We used the sealed money tins so we didn't really know how much was in there due to the odd gainEst. debt free day April 2016 (ish) Debt at June 2010 £34,247.13Debt at Dec 2011 £27,499.09 (19.7% paid off)Working together with DH on our debts (twindad07)Long haulers supporters DFW #2560 -
Hi Guys :hello:
Cousin is ok, the op on his leg went well, and the head injuries ended up as some nasty cuts. So all is good. But it is a lesson in not drinking to much! He's had a drink problem for years and has admitted he was so far gone he didn't see the car and just walked out in front of it . Fortunately the hospital are going to try and help him get off the booze, so there are silver linings to every cloud.
I had a lovely Indian with my friend last night, I popped it on my card as she didn't have any cash on her :doh:so I'm going to pay the £13 from her straight off my c/c. I also mentioned the lack of money to her, so am free of expensive nights out :T I told her cheap nights in were about all I'd be able to afford for a while and she seemed ok with that.
I'm also currently scoutting round Ebay to see how some of the things I have are selling... currently grateful for my ex buying me a Lord of the Rings Chess set, it's never been played with but looks like it will sell ok
And I have a load of skinny me clothes to go through, serious they don't fit and unless I really like a piece I'm going to ebay it, I need the money more.
Curled up in bed at the moment, favourite laptop place
but at some point today will aim to do the following:
Clean bathroom
Find homes for the last of the Christmas presents.
Try and get a bit more of friends bday present done (did some base coats last night)
And probably 101 other things which don't involve spending any more, getting good at that :rotfl:Total at 9th Feb 12 - £17,500  Now - £6,851.05Loan - £6022.05, [STRIKE]Card 1 - £3293.85,[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]Card 2 - £2287.04[/STRIKE], Sofa - £825.00Wedding Pot - £0.00

Oh and I tried the Lost Account website, as I am sure I had a Natwest account when I was at Uni, but can't locate any paperwork, I'm sure it had money in it. So hopefully they will be able to find it.

Bed is really far too tempting isn't it?
I always have to drag myself out, if I wasn't so terrible at actually motivating myself to do anything but lounge around I'd love to work from home! Good luck with the ebay sales, I might actually try it out sometime this year finally! I have a lot of stuff, just not sure there's anything that people would actually want :rotfl: Savings target: £25000/£25000

Yep definately tempting

Well I'm up and dressed, bathroom has been cleaned and 1 load of washing done :A
I'm now sat on the sofa :rotfl:You'd be surprised what people will buy on Ebay, I had an ancient SLR camera, of the film age with no instructions. Bids got up to £40 in the end, I hadn't actually expected anyone to buy it. I've managed to sell my olf bridesmaid's dress as well all sorts of little things. it's worth giving it a go.
I've located a few other things, wedding cake pillars, I'm also going to have a go at selling some homemade things, but not sure how well they will go.

Sounds positive Pea, I still don't ebay much just small things and usually at the FLW's but it surprises me just what sells too. Need another trip north to my Dad's place really to collect some more boxes of 'things' so much stuff there that just accumulated over the years its scary. Last time I visited I was brutal with emptying one of my cupboards but now I wish I'd kept more of it to ebay, meh there are still another four big cupboards to go through so am sure I'll find plenty when I get around to it.
Thinking about selling some hm stuff too but would have to be things like cross stitched cards etc and def need more practise stitching before I even attempt to mount things for sale. It’s not worth doing something unless someone, somewhere, would much rather you weren’t doing it.

Most of mine will be painted things, gift boxes/bags etc. I am currently attempting candles and a piggy bank, so I will see what they come out like. I'll post pictures when I'm done.
I just thought it would be a way of making money from things I already have, and enjoy doing.
I can't believe that today is the last day of 2011! This year has gone so quickly, and even though next year will be tough I'm really looking forward to it
. Just need to get some firm resolutions in place and away we go. Total at 9th Feb 12 - £17,500  Now - £6,851.05Loan - £6022.05, [STRIKE]Card 1 - £3293.85,[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]Card 2 - £2287.04[/STRIKE], Sofa - £825.00Wedding Pot - £0.00

Another one *subscribed*!
I know you said you had a down day and can be a worrier but reading your diary you sound really positive and I'm more than certain with the support of people on here you'll get there! Best of luck anyway...
As for selling homemade items...have you considered facebook? I brought most of my Xmas pressies off various people on there, once you start investigating there's a huge craft movement and you can buy and sell some fabulous things.
