just a couple of spoons of chicken soup ditched because it had been reheated twice already and I darent risk a third when it had been made from leftovers anyway!:o Am reckoning about 15p worth - added to total.
Think I might be getting the hang of this - 2 weeks into the month and less than ever thrown away....thanks everyone for support.

Or what about using same kind of ingredients and layering it up like a kind of Mexican lasagne's and bake - sure there is something like it out there but for life of me can't remember the name. Think it begins with Q:oMrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

I grew up in the days before sell by, use by and best before dates and we used our noses, eyes and common sense to decide if something was ok to use. I recently used a jar of stir fry Cantonese sauce dated use by 2009 and it was absolutely fine.0 -

Before a short holiday, used up ALL the fresh stuff in the fridge & pantry - inc apple crumble for M&D to say thanks for taking the post in
(apples, butter & slightly elderly oats!).
The only downside was coming back very late on a Saturday - no easy food to eat :rotfl:0 -
Todays challenge is sugar free jelly. Seem to have tons of the stuff. Use be 2010 but have eaten the first one with no ill effectsMrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

Bad bad bad. Did a fridge declutter today. One lettuce and half a cucumber went out. But the fridge is sorted. And all the meal planning is done to use it up.GC Mar 13 £47.36/£1500

Been AWOL for a while but need to get back on track.
Only food thrown away in Feb was 4 yoghurts bought for £1.
No food thrown away in March but we're eating a lot of ready meals at work & the places we volunteer at the moment so don't have a lot of food in the house really.
Our big thing seems to be milk - we can't seem to get the amount we need right as we're never in the house for the same times week on week - we only spend £1 a week max on milk a week so it's not a lot of waste - just annoying.
Will try and keep up better again now - think I need to do another freezer use up session as we'll be at home again more over the next few weeks.Initial Mortgage January 2024 - £160,000

Do you freeze it? We find semi-skimmed freezes fine either in the container, or in smaller containers (though obvs as with any milk product make sure they're squeaky clean). I now have a 2pt in the freezer for emergencies - stops me needing to go off to SM if we run out and being tempted by other goodies. I sit it in warm water to hurry the defrosting but it also defrosts over night in the fridge.MrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025

Feeling virtuous :A saved 3 filled brown rolls and 2 date flapjacks after yesterday's seminar. Cut flapjacks into 3. Last night's supper was 1st roll (beef and salad) and 2 flapjack squares. Lunch today was the curried chicken and salad (I put it straight into work fridge after seminar, then quick journey home and straight into fridge - with chicken I get paranoid lol) roll. The 3rd roll I removed the salad and put it in the freezer. We will see...MrsSD declutter medals 2023 🏅🏅🏅⭐⭐ 2025
