Nope, I agree, no where near as good as MSE but it was far better than that tripe tonightOrganised people are just too lazy to look for things

Some of these 'real life' programs just dont seem real.
The woman who was advising them was worryingly like the ladies on how clean is your house?
The only way that her budget was going to work would have been if she had locked their money away ,as they just spent what they thought, rather than the budget and still thought they were being frugal.
I really dont think these people are on TV to save their finances they are just there to be on TV.Maddening!!0 -
maybe the oldstylers need to approach the tv bosses.
money saving for REAL people. Theres a lot of folks on here that could teach people a thing or two, Why is that people insist on being brainwashed by the supermarkets that expensive is good. And the husbands comment on there that *people don't really live like this do they*?.
In an age where people are struggling just to live day to day, it was an insesitive comment. mybe they should take these people out of their environment and show them how the other half live hey?
Still it has given me even more incentive to save & not throw my money away on useless items from the big fat supermarkets0 -
Xbigman wrote:The daytime programme someone mentioned was Money spinners. Average show but for the stroppy teenagers, they were great.
I agree the programme tonight was a let down. Couple and family that live in a big house with land and orchard whinging about money. No thanks. Only programme I really liked was bank of mum and dad.

where did they get all the money from to buy all that shopping pre-the programme?
and its clear not a lot was spent on housekeeping0 -
I couldnt believe the money that, that family had to waste each month, I mean £600 on food, £100 on DVD's a month, £100 on take aways amonth, at least one cruise a year sometimes more, car that is taxed, insured, has a parking permit and has never been used.
No longer a user, goodbye folks. PLEASE delete my account. Thank you0 -
Sheesh - didn't watch it as putting boys to bed, but from your comments, I reckon they should give that family to us lot! We'd have them eating healthily and saving money in no time - give us 1 month's money and we could have them living like kings for many months!0

I would have liked an explanation of one of the opening comments, it was something like 'they've lived extravagantly but the cash has dried up'. Why? Did they have a lump sum but they have now blown it all, or has their credit maxed out? Better still, how long before it gets maxed out?
Whistleblowers at 9pm was much more interesting. Some of the points were a bit overplayed but the fake credit checks were an eye opener.

You know....................just for a minute I thought it WAS Martin, in drag!!! Even the kids asked why he wasn't on there!!
Well I'm glad I wasn't the only one shocked at the family, my youngest couldn't stop laughing at my jaw dropping to the floor and screaming WHAAAAAAAAAT???? all the time!! I can't BELIEVE the amount of money they friviously threw around.............................a bit like that other family I watched this week in Teen Angels!!! Even if I had I wouldn't throw it about like these people!!!Honorary Northern Bird bestowed by AnselmI'm a Board Guide and volunteer to help get your forum questions answered and keep the forum running smoothly on Special Occasions, Green/Ethical, Motoring/Overseas/UK Travel & Flood boards, it's not part of my role to deal with reportable posts. Hi Al mac, it said that they did own the pub and were selling it to pay off the majority of their debt, then it said they would keep their 2nd business which was to do with clothing. Not sure the elder son had a job but he did say he would pay for the younger lad's Youth Club subs, the daughter did and went to university.Honorary Northern Bird bestowed by AnselmI'm a Board Guide and volunteer to help get your forum questions answered and keep the forum running smoothly on Special Occasions, Green/Ethical, Motoring/Overseas/UK Travel & Flood boards, it's not part of my role to deal with reportable posts. I could not believe my eyes and ears.
The wife actually said that if they didn't know what to have in an evening they sent out for a takeaway £50!
I feed 2 of us for a week and pay utility bills with that amount.
It would have been nice to be told what their income was, their outgoings and their debts.
