BBC1 tonight @7pm (16th March)

Just seen in the tv guide, tonight at 7pm BBC1, a new programme called "Smart Spenders". It looks like it'll be right up our street, moneysavers.
Worth a look, everything helps! since being on this site, I'm absolutly shocked at the amount of money I spend. I have no debts (other than a small mortgage), but spend almost every penny we have coming in a month, mostly all on food and eating out in good London restaurants, not even take aways! I'm about to shake up and shock my system........................

I noticed that advertised after Watchdog last night too ... thanks for reminding me as I'd forgotten to set the tv reminder. I did wonder if we might see Martin on there but I guess he'd have told us all about it if he was appearing ;)

Just thought I'd add that the Budget is just starting on ITV1 for those that are interested.

cheers LilacLillie, that sounds like it might be worth a look.

The budget's looking good for me at the moment and is going to save me nearly a grand in stamp duty in the next month (can I put that in for my pin money challenge? :p )
Pre O/S: what's a vitamin? Does it begin with the letter e?Now: I'm not eating any of that pre-made rubbish...

Looks like I'm gonna have to buy myself a telly, a tv aerial and a television licence just so I can watch all these money saving programmes. I really feel like I am missing out when I was trying to be good... :( I can't even watch on my computer at the moment as I'm on dial up.

I've never seen Martin on the telly either. When's he going to get his own show btw?

In the interests of the keeping the community spirit of MSE, I think I will just have to have a bar of chocolate too while I watch.

    Quote from Radio Times

    Smart Spenders
    7:00pm - 7:30pm
    BBC1 North
    VIDEO Plus+: 5622
    Subtitled, Widescreen

    1/6 - The Taylors

Another week, another "buck-up-your-ideas" programme. This one is essentially What Not to Spend: families who are facing a cash crisis learn how to cut their outgoings. First up are the Taylors from Somerset, who used to be loaded, but have fallen on hard(ish) times. It may have something to do with the fact that between them they spend £500 on cigarettes every month and £100 on DVDs. Wayne, 23, spends £50 a week on fruit machines alone. And here comes help in the form of thrift expert Jane Furnival, marching past the camera in a strange outfit and pointedly swinging her handbag. Will she use it to clout anyone who doesn't fall into line? Not quite, but she does lay down the law in time-honoured TV-bossyboots style.

No longer a user, goodbye folks. PLEASE delete my account. Thank you
