I need to phone the ms co in the morning as I can't actually write it up due to among other things not being able to comment on the quality of food, and the lack of receipt since we didn't have to pay for our drinks.

Just discovered that you can fill in part of the passport renewal application online so have filled it in and am now waiting for the form to be posted so I can sign and return it - along with photos (urgh) and the £77.50 fee!!

Ordered some pieces of aida from ebay too so I can start to do some more cross stitching, although I now need to buy some threads when I decide what I want to stitch - will have to decide then hopefully buy the threads on ebay with money I already have in paypal (around $48 so can convert it to £sterling as required).

Mum and I did some cross sitch a while back, but I don't think we have much left. I'll have a look and if we do have anything of interest left I'll let you know.

I thinking about starting my own patchwork quilt, but I have enough things on the go at the moment, I think I finish something first.

I am alive...at least the presence of a pulse and breathing implies it....will be back to post at some point over the weekend if I don't get dragged in to doing more overtime and can think/see./type in straight lines!

Straight lines are still a challenge but am settled on the sofa with the boy, a brew and my lappy so thought I'd stick a quick update in.

Filled the car up with that petrol stuff this evening so have to pay an extra £50 off the credit card fairly soon, I've not added anything else to the card lately as virtually all the mystery shopping I had planned I ended up needing to cancel after getting offered some short notice overtime at work, means that as soon as the money for what I have done gets paid in to my account I'll be reducing the balance again rather than just paying off what I've added to it.

  • Glad you managed to get some over time, have a lovely break this weekend and find those straight lines again lol.

Nice to see you reducing the balance on your cc... I need to start doing that, it's better than treading water.

Break...weekend....nope thats throwing up error messages in my brain. I've already been to work this morning and have an evening shift later on. Muchly looking forward to my day off on Tuesday though.

In the mean time I've had lunch and am off to bed for a nap. Getting home from work at 2330 and being back at 0630 does not a happy cheery angel make.

Back from work mk2, fairly busy evening which was mildly horrific for both me and the chef since the poor soul is another borrowed person hoping for a quiet overtime shift. Still it made a nice change to the usual sitting around on my own for two hours after the kitchen closes.

Had a really nice nap apart from the petboy wandering in a couple of times to ask if I was dead yet....

Also have a minor problem in that dearly beloved put some washing in while I was napping, but only put his things in, and used the last of the washing powder - despite me asking him to order more when he did the online order the other week, so I now have a choice of beer scented or hot chocolate powder encrusted uniforms to wear tomorrow afternoon.

Went with the choc encrusted trousers and beer scented shirt at work today - was that cold that I was wearing my fleece almost the entire shift so didn't matter too much.

Went shopping on the way home, heard that some Lidl's own brand washing powder is a good alternative to the Persil Non Bio we normally use so bought a big box for just short of £7 (60 washes)- the store I visit is small and didn't have any smaller packs, but went in to pay Mr S a visit and got a small box of Persil (10 washes) just in case I don't like the Lidl stuff. Either way I don't see me needing to buy any more for the foreseeable future since the pet has his deployment date and once he's boogied off general household expenses will massively reduce. Washing is in the machine so if it's not great I have time to rewash and dry my uniforms before I have to go back to work.

Work have also given me two pieces of potential good news - it is rumoured that after you've done a certain number of overtime hours you go on to double pay for any more - if thats true I exceeded the 'certain' number last week by quite a few, and we've been given a small pay rise, given I'd still not worked out what my salary should be since sorting the tax issue I'll probably not find out what my monthly pay ought to be for a couple of months yet (already got overtime shifts booked for Feb as well as the rest of this month).
