Salt & Vinegar v Cheese & Onion! Which are the ultimate crisps?

Come on, this is not hard to believe...it just goes to show that despite the bombardment of cooking programs to educate the British palatte, a large proportion of us are still somewhere between Dripping Sandwiches and Brontosaurus burgers...0

I love most flavour crisps, but salt & vinegar has to be my fav. I used to love Walkers, but their bags are so stingy nowadays. I got a packet the other day and it says on the back the packet contains 35g of crisps but my bag only weighed 15g including the packet! I know I'm sad for weighing my crisps but for the amount they charge for a packet you'd expect better quality and a better amount. I eat Asda's own brand now. Cheap, but good quality and plenty to a bag. They've got a special offer on at the mo - 3 6pack bags for only £2.00 - Bargain! 12 packs of crisps for the same price as 4 packs of Walkers.Don't let the b*st*rds get you down!0

Write to Walkers, include the bags, complain!!!! I am sure you will then get an explanation and apology with quite a few free packets!!!!!!!!!!! They will probably thank you for bringing to their attention a problem with the machines LOL
Anyway, you should get a few freebies for your trouble, but send a letter not e-mail, I find this usually works.

Why do people spell barbecue with a Q?
Shouldn't that word be pronounced 'barbeck', as in discotheque?
Sorry to nitpick, but along with the unnecessary 'for' which regularly appears in front of the word 'free', it drives me mad, and I was once driven to rubbing out a superfluous 'for' from a chalkboard outside a local gyn which was offering free membership!
Then there are the people who same amount when they mean number.

I forgot to add that the best crisps are the root vegetable ones, made from parsnip, carrot and beetroot.
Money saving tip! They are expensive in Sainsburys, but CHEAPER in Aldi!;)0 -

Whats the story with Walkers trying to confuse us???
Everyone Knows Salt and Vinegar should be Blue and Cheese and Onion should be green, What ever happened to Gold and Wonder anyway!!!!
As far as the best tasting crisps in the world, thats easy! Tayto Crisps; Cheese and Onion flavour (which are yellow) are easily the best and should be more easily available, in my opinion. Seems you can only get them in Ireland.
And even then, the old North South divide thing means that there are two different companies called Tayto who both do damn fine tasting cheese and onion, great with a nice hot cup of tea,
How do you eat yours?????????0 -

And yes Tayto are great crisps (though not Cheese and onion, yuck) and they are becoming increasingly available in the UK. I certainly don't have much difficulty getting them.0 -
