My Goodness this tread moves fast, 10 pages since I posted yesterday. I only popped into the forum to print off the OS Calendar only to find that my printer is running out of ink, so after having a run of nsd's I will have to go out tomorrow to get new ink cartridges and hope that my resolve to eat up everything that I have in the fridge/freezer keeps me from having a browse around for a bargain.
Aberdeensaver - I'm in the same boat as you, trying to give up the cigs primarily for health and money reasons, remember you can get NRT of any kind for free through the Community Pharmacy scheme, I'm on week 8, although I have had the odd slip I'm determined to it this time.Jan - June Grocery spends = £531.61
July - Grocery spends = £113.010 -
Oh that hurt.... have just updated my signature for todays shopping! I spent nearly £150 :mad::mad: Mind you, I did get next years christmas puds at 10p each and some mince pies at 10p for 6 and enough toilet roll to wallpaper the house with. I also got washing powder for the month and some whoops broccoli for soup and 3 lumps of stilton for a pound and 12 tins of beans, a sack of onions, more veg, a hunk of gammon and a kilo of goats cheese and the dogs food for the month so I guess I didnt do too bad. Will just have to resist the SM for the rest of the month!
Broccoli and stilton soup here I come.... (by the way - if you eat the heads of the broccoli as a veg you can save the stalks/leaves/trimmings for the soup quite successfully.):beer:DFWNerd 1417

Hi All,
I haven't been here for a while but need to get a handle on the spending again. I used to budget £100 but as there have been so many price increases in the past 12 months I'll say £110 for Jan please.
Have spent £7 already!

There is a green bar that says Main Site... Forum... User CP
Click on user CP and you'll see a bit on the laft hand side that says edit signature. Click it and input your details in there
As for the size/colour on the same word, it's easy - just highlight the word and click, for example, bold, italics, underlined, size, colour...

Hope that helps
I also thank posts so I know exactly where I've read up to.

I've had a few nice NSDs. Will buy some turnip and a few carrots tomorrow when I'm picking up my blender (yay! :j)
We're having gammon steaks with root veg mash and brussells sprouts (I think my 5 year old is gonna turn into a sprout! :rotfl:) tomorrow, sizzling beef strips on thursday and cottage pie on Friday (with the rest of the root veg mash ).
Will update my signature tomorrow when I've bought them.
ETA: I'm having to stop myself buying my usual Fairy washing powder which is half price from £20 - £10 at sainsburys at the moment, but I know I have enough to last till next year (I buy enough for the year when it's on it's annual offer!). It's a great price but I don't need it. I don't :cool:0 -
Ha - at least they don't spit them off the opposite wall, swear gently and go and see what next door are having for dinner whomemenacethenicetabbynextdoorforhisgocat whilst maintaing an air of injured innocence. Mine have expensive biscuits but will only eat MrS cheap fish cuts in jelly for meat for which I am very grateful.
Amazon and pet food - I add the things mine will eat to my basket and save for later. Every time I log on it shows any reductions (or increases) so I buy when it drops.
We did buy some tins of food for the stray cat but then realised that even although he is always starving a whole tin in a sitting was a bit much and we never know when he'll turn up, so we gave the rest to ours... feeding frenzy, they fell upon it like finest caviar. So of course... the next day we opened another tin for them. Stoney silence, backs turned at just that angle, suspicious sniffing followed by hurt looks, none of it eaten - don't be silly etc etc. What can one say but that they're cats.:oI was off to conquer the world but I got distracted by something sparkly
