    Mortgage-free Glee!
Sadly dropped off the grocery challenge wagon several months ago - but really need to get back on board please! I'm going for £220 for January and then try to gradually drop it a bit every month. Thanks to everyone who keeps this thread going - much needed, much appreciated. Won't be starting before January 1st, but thought I'd best get my thoughts in gear now and start planning!
    Resolution:
    Think twice before spending anything!

Can I please try for £250 please. Thats for 4 of us plus a dog. It will be tight but we have plenty left from Christmas, we also have been given a big bag of dog food from someone who's dog died. I've also stocked up on nappies, toiletries and washing powder - so in theory its do-able. In January we tend to be super frugal ;)

Mission: to go early in the morning so I can concentrate on prices/deals. Take a calculator and list with me every time, put unneccessary things back if I go over budget, go on a diet, go vegetarian twice a week.

. Good luck everyone and happy new year.
  • Firstly .... a huge thank you to Zippychick, Helen Jelly & Rosieben for looking after us all - this is one of my favourite challenges - I just wish I'd found it sooner!:D

mmmm and the first month is a 5 weeker - that'll put my annual budget in a negative right at the start!

A quick question for anyone on annual budgets - how you do keep track?

(Budget already on first page so not coloured/bold)

I've set my annual total at £1680 which comes out at £140/month - but obviously there will probably be overspends in the 5 week months & hopefully underspends in the 4 week ones.

If I don't have some sort of breakdown into a monthly figure - I know I'll be totally lost by about March time:o

I'm thinking along the lines of keeping track monthly against the £140 and then updating the annual budget at the month end and putting a + or - figure in backets at the end to show how I'm doing.

Does this sound like it would work?:o TIA:)

Debt free & determined to stay that way!
  • I did this challenge a couple of months ago- but only lasted a couple of weeks before losing count on what I had spent. But I am back and 2012 is the year for change! I want to be debtfree, lose weight and hopefully have another baby :) (my lo is 6 months old lol!)

Anyway can you please put me down for £150 a month as I have no idea what we spend! Thats for me, oh and lo.
