just checked my MOC's and i have a £5 off £25 spend at M*rks plus a £3 off £30 spend at Icel*nd and both expire on Jan 31st. It seems silly not to use them for February's shopping so i will start my February shopping on Monday 30th IYSWIM.

Hello :hello:
I've been a little bit of a lurker for many a month (on and off) but never really participated, nor have I ever actually stuck to my budget for an entire monthHowever, I am feeling inspired by mothership's second purse concept, as set out in kerri_dfw's new thread :T
January's budget has been well and truely blown but I would like to join in for next month, if I may? This thread clearly moves very quickly so I am likely to be mostly lurking and catching up daily with the email notifications but could you please put me down for:
£250 for February
Thank you :T:T
Helen xx
Ooh! Edit: When does the board for the next month generally start? If I'm not on the ball enough I might miss it otherwise:jDebt Free By Xmas 2013 #010 £16,660.26/£16,660.26 100% paid, DFD 25/06/13!:j0 -
Ok so first month of doing this properly (this month was only 3 weeks and I've been doing well). Going to set myself £150 for Feb but I'm really hoping it comes in under this, still aiming for the usual £20 a week

Please can I ask if you do come under budget what do you do with the underspend? I dont know whether to save it in my sealed pot or carry it forward.
Also - as we get near to the end of the month is it a new thread for the new challenge? - I'd like to reduce my target for february a bit
Thanks
At the moment if I come in under budget it is going towards our holiday, but in the future I am going to put it into a bulk buy purse so that when offers come up I can stockpile without using the monthly budget
I haven't checked all the thread yet so someone may have answered your question already but when you have completed you month ( everyone has different from and too dates) you just write in bold red what your budget is for the following month and that is added to the list. There is a new forum for the beginning of each new month - just follow the new link when it is added.Sealed Pot Challenge 2011 / no. 1205 £110 made]Sealed Pot Challenge 2012/no 1205 target £300Jan g/c 355.83/£450

OK, well, big grocery order coming in Thursday and it's going to put me over the top but not by a huge amount (less than in December). £350 felt pretty achievable though so let's keep with £350 for February which is a short month. Apart from ordering in pizza as birthday treat for daughter, we've not had any unexpected meals out or takeaways, so this is pretty positive.Make £2023 in 2023: (all decluttering), current total £2860 me, £330 for friends & family, £468 charity donations.0

Oh dear haven't quite managed to keep to budget - over by almost £40! Want to blame it on the fact that I was ill this weekend so DH went shopping and isn't quite as frugal as me (!) but I am also to blame for a take away pizza for £25 which I didn't really enjoy (it had been at the end of a long stressful day!).
Oh well, its given me an idea of where we went right and wrong (and to get a stack of cheepo pizzas in the frezzer for stressful day's tea!).Decluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45
