I've got 3 days left and I'm still under target
fingers crossed I can keep it going, it's going to be pasta with onions and chopped toms the rest of the week as I don't want to go over. All because I can't use a slow cooker properly, oops what a waste of veg.
Anyway, 64p added today for a tin of beans from my stockpileDiary: Getting back on track for 2013 and beyondDEBT FREE 13-10-13 :dance::dance::dance::dance:

Have to agree its definitely worth putting on a few pound to quit smoking its three weeks for me now and am finding it hard, not suprising as I have been smoking for over 50 years:eek::eek::eek:
Meg well done you 50 years is a long time to break the habit but you must be so pleased every time you have another day as a non smoker. I had been smoking 20 a day for 10 years and a week in I am using peppermint tea and sugar free gum like its going out of fashion (and bourbon biscuits!) but am starting to be a bit less grumpy and went out running on Saturday just to prove what the smoking had been doing to me!
WE can do this one day as a non smoker at a time!Jan GC £242.38/£250

Hi All
Well - This year we've decided to really stick to a budget as we need to decorate and holiday would be nice - set a target of £250 for groceries for January, one week left till I get paid! so far we've spent £170, which is exceptional for us as we'd normally spend around £400-£500 per month, meal planning etc is the key. Plan to keep a check on this thread. Good luck :j0 -
Morning All,
Last 2 tiny spends to add - £1.78 !celand & £5.59 M & $ - Bringing my January total to £219.89 / £3000
I still have quite a bit of food in so will need to meal plan for next month and organise hubby (baby is due any day now so he will be taking the reigns for shopping etc).
I am hoping to measure my no spends days next month too - hopefully once little one arrives I will be able to get into a better routine for shopping ... I never realised how much petrol nipping around used!!£2 Saver # 40 & SPC # 1465 & VSP # 94 £101.47/£100

When I am under budget I transfer that money to an online savings account towards a holiday. Some people put towards bulk buying the next month, others put towards christmas, it is up to you.

Lots of basics items in the trolley, and cheaper things. Got to checkout, still with time to spare. The girl said £17.24 please, and I asked her to take off my reward points, so then she said £2.24 please!!!! My whole week's shopping cost £2.24! Well, I did spend £4 Fri on a couple of melons and some other bits, but still! £2.24!! Can you feel the excitement coming through your screen right now?!?!?

It is lovely to hear other peoples truimphs over the supermarkets, well done :T
I always write a list and try to put it in the order that I walk around the supermarket and try not to look at anything else whilst on my way around as I am very easily persuaded to buy things I don't really need.

Hi All
NSD yesterday since I used freezer items for lunch/dinner.
NSD today as well since I'm having hummus and pitta for lunch, and it's my flatmates turn to cook this evening.
I definitely set my target far too high this month so I will be reducing it in February. I'm glad I rejoined the challenge though - it's made me remember how much I was spending on ready made sandwiches/meals for lunch because I wasn't preparing myself! Dinners have never been that bad for me, and I waste very little, but lunches and breakfasts have always been my downfall.
Pleased with my spends so far, and the Mr W shop will now be postponed for another week because Mysupermarket has another deal for £20 off a £100 spend valid until the 18th Feb. I don't really need that much food now, after some top-ups, so it can wait until February.Grocery Challenge Jan 24 0/300
