This thread definately moves too fast
But well done on everyone tracking their spends.
January was my first real month of the budgeting - December was my trial run and I am pleased to say that I have spent £212.52 / £3000 I am sure there might be another receipt or 2 before pay day (Wednesday) but I think no more than £10.
Next month is my biggest challenge because I want to clear my debt to my mum (now I know she won't mind if I don't but i'd rather clear it anyway before maternity pay kicks in!)
I have managed to stock up on a couple of things - toilet rolls in L!dl were a bargain at 6.99 for 24and I have a good chunk of cat food needed for next month. Mr T has kindly given my a £10 off voucher so I will be getting £7 free food with that :T

I have been lusting after a CK bag for years and just couldn't justify the expense at £35-55 a pop. It was £9.99  which was a bit eye watering for a CS and I would have normally just walked away but I decided to treat myself just this once as I have been so good with my grocery challenge over the last couple of months I decided to use £10 from my GC account
Ohhhhhhh I have a bit of a "thing" for handbags. Fantastic find & we all need a treat now & then!:D

Ohhhh noooooo pants ..... that so sounds like something I would've done when I was young. Really frustrating and annoying but I bet he never does anything like it again .....
Itching to get to the sm before it gets busy (been up since 3:o) but need to go to the library to get a book I've had on reserve for months pending its' publication and it doesn't open until 10 *sigh* - don't want to have to go out twice.
Looking decidedly horrible outside so hopefully I'll be able to get on with the house clean when I get back.... Need to decide what to make for tea as fancy something nice ..... mmmm chicken casserole sounds good - off to dig out some chicken breasts right now!:)Grocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)

Good morning, been offline a few days and have no chance of catching up with this thread!!!! I have gone over as spent £70.27 in MrM yesterday which brings my total up to £366. Not sure we will manage until the 31st but am going to try! Was quite annoyed in MrM yesterday as the value range is being re-branded to 'savers' and part of this process seems to be an increase in price! there were two price labels for jam - value strawberry 18p, savers strawberry 35p. Naturally there was no value jam left . Makes me cross but enough moaning.
Have a good weekend

Morning Folks
Shopping this week was
Lidl........ £24.89
Tesco.... £29.71
milk etc... £4.91
58.71 pleased with that. Got quite a bit of organic meat reduced about 25% so added that to the freezer.
Made lists and have to say that really helped me."You are never too old to set another goal or to dream a new dream"C. S. Lewis

more spends to declare £30ish total
still 10 days to go of jan so gotta work on damage limitation now as well over budget already
the £30+ i've spent on various medications this month for the constant coughs/colds ect that seem to be doing the rounds def hasnt helped nor has the i dont want that can i have xyz instead
but somedays it just seems so much easier to give in and know they've eaten rather than cook whats planned at it gets wasted.i know when your not well that sometimes you really dont fancy something but i think they're playing in it a bit at the mo.
on the plus side swapped my small slowcooker for a bread maker so gonna give it a try though need to get the stuff in for it 1st
aiming for desperately needed nsd today/tom dont actully need anything that cant wait & found a joint lurking in the freezer so thats in the slowcooker and will do dinner today/tom
congrats to those who've finished on target this month
hope everyone had a good weekend and try not to spend too muchthis year do something that scares you for courage is not the absence of fear just the knowledge that some things are worth the risk0 -
About to do the 'my supermarket check to see where to buy what for next week's food. Also noticed C*-*p have two 4-packs of Hz baked beans for £3 in my local, which I thought was pretty good (just found you can check their offers on their web site, hadn't known that, tend to just look at 'my sm')
Aiming for something close to a pyjama day without actually going shopping in them:rotfl:
btw someone mentioned where to buy Tilda rice cheap - best I can see is Mr W at £3.32 a 1kg bag - does anyone know if it was a HB type shop and if so which one? Thanks!0 -
Did my first BIG spends for Febuary. We needed nappies as only 2 left and lots of basics like bread, milk, fruit, yogurts, fish fingers, spuds and cheese, dog food, kitchen towel, bathroom cleaner and bin liners. Oh and 4 cans of lager and a bottle of wine and some mini biccys for my lunches:o
£84.92 spent in Ald1 for an overflowing trolley full but this included a mattress protector for our new bed that is coming in a few weeks and an oven liner which come out of a seperate budget so £74.64 to add.
Then went to Asd@ for DH prescription and spent £30.57 but this included a top for me, £2 on 2 books for DH and some stationary for my college course. Took advantage of some of their £1 frozen offers and a pack of coke for DH on offer. £12.07 to add to the GC.
So that is £86.71 spent out of £400 already:eek: Debating if we should pop to costc0 today to get 2 boxes of the nappies on offer which will put me over £100 but will last 2 months at least.
Forgot to buy skimmed milk in Asd@ as Ald1 don't do 4 pinters and I also need to buy s1mple shower gel for me as I can't use anything else.
I am determined that this will by my last spend day until next weekend.Save £10,500 - £2673.77 - 25.5%
