A planned NSD today as OH is running all day and I'm having an easy day, getting the house cleaned and doing some cupboard sorting ready to menu plan like mad to keep me under budget. Have just updated my sig as OH keeps buying stuff without me knowing till I see it in the fridge( mainly drinks for his running and GF rolls). Will try to make do over the weekend as have plenty of milk and essential, a bit low on veg but will use up what's left. Tonight an early dinner of Pesto pasta with lots of veg through it as DD has work and we are planning a cinema trip to see Sherlock Holmes. We still have almost £60 of our budget left so should make it to the 31st hopefully as long as we don't go silly. Am planning a biggish shop for things we've run out of for tuesday ( like coffee, tinned toms, fresh veg etc) and hoping to keep it to about £40 so we have a few pounds to cover milk etc for the rest of the week.Grocery challenge October: £228.28/£250.00 NSD 4 ( not completed)
Grocery challenge November : £291.65/300.00 NSD 10
Grocery challenge December : £0/240.00 NSD0 -
Got my Mr T order last night, £68 added! Was a bit disappointed cos didn't seem to get much food for our money, but a lot was toiletries/household/coke
I keep getting Mr T emails saying claim £5 off your next shop if you spend over £50 on groceries delivery this week (which I have) but I have no idea how to claim it... does anyone know?Future hopes, dreams & emergencies fund: £4,000

Just back from Mr T spending a £6 off £40 voucher they gave me last week - they have an instore offer on now too, spend £40 and get £5 off £40 next week. Are they a little bit concerned about the recent bad publicity?
Anyway, I spent £37.38 after the voucher and this included plenty of dog food, toiletries and loads of F&V and 2 8x packs of diet coke at half price. Oh, and a small bunch of tulips to cheer myself up.:p
That brings my total to exactly £101 for January - Feb's budget starts next week so I'm comfortably within budget:j even if I need to pick up a few bits in the week (can't think of anything now but you never know).
Will have a think about Feb's budget and post later in the week.0 -

Also, which forum is best to post just for a bit of support? I have worked out we're likely to be in this situation for a very long time to come, I have no support at home as my husband is burying his head in the sand and as nearly everything is in his name I can't do anything! I just want a friendly ear!
Welcome - this is a wonderful forum for support - as are many others. I'm in this for the long haul as well, although I only have myself to blame and no partner to kybosh my efforts.
Today is day 1 of my February GC and I went to Mr M to spend my£40, save £5 voucher - what have you all done to me?
I found myself armed with a shopping list and adding up the totals as I went around the store. Pre Dec 23rd 2011 I would just throw things in, be tempted by offers and think nothing about a trolley thatcost between £70 and £100 (even more on occasions!!). Today the trolley (minus £5 voucher) came in at £40.31 and contained a number of stockcupboard items that are not needed this week particularly. It also contained a YS ham hock at £1.39 which is cooking in the slow cooker as we speak ready to make ham and veg broth for lunches this week, and a large pack of YS chicken drumsticks and thighs ready to be seperated and frozen.
Next stop was Mr A*di - I have ever shoped in there before and was very impressed. I went particulary to buy a pair of frozen lamb shanks - I tried these at my parents at christmas and have been dreaming of them - the dogs also enjoy the bones afterwards. So that stop cost me £11.59
Finally I pooped in Mr T for some kenco decaf which is on offer and is he only coffee that I drink. I had £6.50 in vouchers and picked up 4 jars - along with some ys diet coke and ys large beef yorkshire pudding for tea. The visit cost me £16.29
So - this is a roundabout way of confessing that I have spent £68.27 but have enough food for the month (and beyond) and should - with a lot of NSD's be able to cope until the end of payday (famous last words!)
Off to plan the meals for the month!44 day challenge
1. Pay £650 off overdraft (£ 288/ £650)
2. Lose 12 lbs (4.5/ 12)
3. Use YNAB everyday (6/44)0 -

I agree with Ninno, the Old Style forum is the best and friendliest for support, we have a couple of 'tough' threads that might help - A new 'tougher' thread and there's also Not mentioning the T word at all... don't throw the string away. You always need string!
