Hi Everyone
3 Nsd's in a row so doing well up to now. Not much left to see me through to Wednesday but im determined to make it, got enough in for lunch and dinners. Mealplan sorted and i dont need to buy anything for them. Keeping hold of whats left because im bound to need bread, milk and bananas by next week. I think I might need to get some more flavoured water for the kiddies pack up from Sainsburys. Hope everyone has a good weekend xMarch 2014 Grocery challenge £250.000 -

So, I get paid today and start February GC. It is the first month where I have got to pay day with money in my account, unheard of! :jLittleMissHappy wrote: »DH will be happy as he has been complaining recently that there is never any food in the house (he means snack food as we always have breakfast, lunch and dinner!)
When you look through the cupboards, you say there's nothing to eat - even though you've got LOADS in. It's just that there's nothing ready to eat right now :rotfl:LavenderBees wrote: »I need frozen peas, but can't have them defrosting in the office this afternoon, so may pop out tomorrow to get some...then again, that prevents another NSD on my challenge so maybe not...not sure I can live without my frozen pea fix, though. They go in everything I make. And peppers, and sweetcorn :rotfl:
I bought 6 bags of the birdseye petits pois today at sainsburys - 700g for £1.07
I also bought 10 packs of the De Cecco linguine (genuine Italian brand!) - 500g for 78p at Sainsburys.
Picked up a few various other bits and pieces and spent £16.84. Will add to my signature total. If I manage to stay out of the shops, I will be able to declare a total of £102.96 out of £2000 for January. Or a little over 5%.
Oh, took delivery of the Donald Russell order today, so that's in the freezer as well. Had a good little play with the dry ice that came with it as well :rotfl:
Ended up with the chicken and chorizo bake (with added veg) for dinner tonight. It's fantastic and will be added to the regular meals list in this house0 -
After mothership suggested it yesterday I've setup a challenge for the 2nd/3rd purse system. If you'd like to join it's hereDecluttering Achieved - 2023 - 10,364 Decluttering - 2024 - 8,365 August - 0/45

I had a rather sneaky spend today. I was walking back from taking the kids to school and something made me go into a charity shop that I usualy don't bother with as it is a bit 'yuk' (funny thing is I had walked past the umpteen other CS I usually go into as I was determined not to spend anything today.) But something made me go in there today. There on a shelf at the back was a rather gorgeous Cath Kidston bag, looks like new and barely used. I have been lusting after a CK bag for years and just couldn't justify the expense at £35-55 a pop. It was £9.99  which was a bit eye watering for a CS and I would have normally just walked away but I decided to treat myself just this once as I have been so good with my grocery challenge over the last couple of months I decided to use £10 from my GC accountBSCno.87The only stupid question is an unasked oneLoving life as a Kernow Hippy0

AlwaysHappy wrote: »Sounds like a bargain to me - I was going to say I never have much luck in charity shops but a couple of years ago I got a whole set of denby coffee cups, saucers, plates and coffee pot for £15 which I still love to this day. It's nice to treat yourself every once in a while and I'm sure you will have loads of lovely comments about it once you start using it. Well done on the find - it obviously had to be.

I havent been able to find a local supplier for a veg box, so I think I might just pop into Aldi every week and buy the super 6. It'll vary my diet rather than sticking to the same old fruit & veg. Love reading everyones posts, it's getting me fired up for Feb
