Yes you are. I'd advise an immediate upgrade/replacement (as we did) to a Spectrum 48k.

Not keen on these as they got "merged" with Amstrad and they were not real computers

Not at all, you're thinking of the 128k +2 which was the first "Amstrad" spectrum. The Spectrum 48k from design to manufacture was purely Sinclair and was before Amstrad took over.

I originally upgraded from a zx80, I did not think that I would have to do it again though;)

Well that's the advancing pace of technology for you, have you "upgraded your car to a sinclair c5 yet? :rotfl:

    To the OP's question

i have just built a high end system which will run vista easily, but i have opted for windows xp

    why?

because vista is still new, and from past experience, it takes sometime for microsoft to iron out bugs, and for software vendors/drivers to play catch up

so my advice would be leave it for 6 months or until sp1 comes out and then see how your system is to cope with vista and to read what people think then

new doesn't always mean better, or stable

    the old saying

if it ain't broke , don't fix it!

That's a difficult motto to apply to technology, given how fast it changes. Often you need to change to keep up to date with things.

I hope it's got a flux capacitor. Did you upgrade the engine to use a Mr. Fusion? ;)
