I know someone who has just installed it, and he hates it. I was going to get it this week but he's put me off. Some personal opinions would be great..............

Do you have a particular reason for wanting it? It's early days for ordinary home user to upgrade unless they're buying a new pc."She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"

I personally would really like to install Vista (I'd consider myself quite techie even) but I'm in no rush about it and certainly isn't a priority. I'm more likely to upgrade my hardware first and by that time Vista will have settled in with the public more."She is quite the oddball. I'll let you know the week after next when my new PC arrives (with Vista Home Premium installed). It should be interesting if nothing else. It's my problem, it's my problem

And it's my problem if I have no friends

No particular reason for getting it apart from keeping up with the Joneses I guess and keeping up with pc technology in general. Not a techie by any means but technology changes from week to week and .............. do you know what I have no real valid reason at this moment in time for getting it...........
but would still like to hear of anyones experience with it

In that case I'd definitely wait anyway, there's still a lot of manufacturer's catching up with drivers etc. Let other people be the guinea pigs. It'll be quite a while before you start feeling like you're "left behind". XP has been out over five years and there are still people who use ME, 98 etc as their main OS. So no need to jump the gun just yet."She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"

I apologise sincerely, I shall henceforth refer to it as "the OS that shall not be named"."She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"

I like it, but personally use Linux.
As mentioned, if you're not a techie, need to be on the cutting edge, or buying a new pc, maybe wait a while before upgrading. XP is fine for now. Maybe wait until June/July."Boonowa tweepi, ha, ha."0 -
