The worst one this year for me was Twilight Eclipse on DVD from my sister (no offense meant to twilight fans) but I am a heavy metal, horror film kind of person. The film I hate the most is most is Twilight (followed by Sex in the City), I hate soppy, teenagery films. Why on earth she would give me that I have no idea, except we don't get on so it was probably on purpose. Plus it was obviously an ex-rental, as it was written all over the disk.
The worst overall was the first year myself and the oH were together and he got me cheap purfume (I'm allegic to purfume), dodgy ear rings that were meant for 70year olds, feriro roche (I hate them) and a stationary box.

My worst gift was 12 bottles of white wine from MIL.
It was good stuff, Blossom Hill but I hate white wine - I only drink rose. I got 2 bottles this year but luckily my Mum and sis have better taste and both bought me Blossom Hill Rose
I think the most comical worst present on this Xmas had to come from my best mate. Her husband buys her a crap present every year so this year she ordered him to allow her to choose her own. Which she did and she was very happy with. However come Xmas day, she opened another present to find a case - and I mean a sealed box full - of Mini Party Rings biscuits!!! Both me and my Mum laughed for about 10 minutes but understandably she was furious...*The RK and FF fan club* #Family*Don’t Be Bitter- Glitter!* #LotsOfLove ‘Darling you’re my blood, you have my heartbeat’ Dad 20.02.200 -
I have laughed so much at this thread
This year i receved some lovely presents.
One year going back to about 1999 i recieved a box. I was so excited. Opened it up and was a mobile phone box. I could hardly believe my luck until i looked inside and it was filled with pot pourri.
My mother in law bought us all a pen each one year. Ethel, Eric, for my husband and myself. Gwen and Elsie for my 2 daughters. Lovely pens but not our names. When i pointed this out to mother in law she said well they were in the sale and i thought you would like them. Bless her!!!!When life gives you a hundred reasons to cry, show life that you have a thousand reasons to smile0 -
Having a laugh at other peoples rubbish gifts. I have a relative who habitually buys or regifts rubbish gifts. She buys in the sales . Nothing wrong with that I do it myself. But it seems price is more important than the actual item bought. Too many rubbish ones to mention . Remember one year I got a stainless steel tea pot. One of the cheap ones you would get in a cafe. I don't drink tea. Had various knickers bought always in wrong size.
Girls would get clothes never the right size. Short jammies at Xmas 3 sizes too big. Same swimming costume 2 years running cos shop she worked in went bankrupt and she bought excess stock.
ceramic speed gun ornament Police man holding speed gun !!!
This year I got a cork screw . Man in tiger skin loin cloth with screw part between his legs & Olive oil pourer !! Daughter got vests age 11 she is 9 and a colouring book for a 5 year old !! Dog keyring we are cat people. Drawing pencils used !!!I have never met a calorie yet I didn't like!!0 -

I can't even get away with wearing them to walk the dog as I'll look a complete sap with those sticking out from under my trousers!! They are trying to be 'casual' but they are quite narrow and look 'smart'.
This thread made me try them on, I have some many problems getting shoes to fit me, I am disappointed to admit that they actually do fit.
My mother likes to wear tracksuit bottoms with shoes like this: http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B005ANS40U/ref=asc_df_B005ANS40U5840130/?!!!!!googlecouk06-21&creative=22134&creativeASIN=B005ANS40U&linkCode=asn
ARGHHHHHHH..........

I have just laughed out loud at the pen story! How funny! Reminds me of my mother in law from my first marriage who bought anything as long as it was cheap, and used to get my eldest DD boys t-shirts and shorts in Woolies' sale. Which would be ok, except these were in 0-3 months and DD was about 3 at the time. Ex-MIL said "Well perhaps she could wear them playing in the garden". :rotfl:0 -
Just heard from an elderly relative.....
Week before Christmas she travelled from Yorkshire to London by coach to visit her niece and take presents. Was given a big beautifully wrapped box as her present. Struggled home with it...carefully held on her knees all the way on the coach.... excitedly wondering what it could be. Come Christmas morning...ripped off the paper and opened the box to find a pair of juggling clubs! She's eighty three!!!!

:rotfl:at this thread!
This year I received from 2 people who really know me very well, a box of whiskey liqueurs. Some people might quite like these but I have never drank whiskey nor am likely to. To get 1 box of these is odd enough but 2 people to get them ((shrugs))
Was a store selling them off really cheaply or something?
I don't know of anyone else who might like them so gawd knows what I'm going to do with them.Mortgage free as of 10/02/2015. Every brick and blade of grass belongs to meeeee. :j0 -
I thought the box of cotton buds that were decorated with pom poms and white lace that I got from my DMIL last year couldn't be beaten, but then the presents from my DSister and DBIL arrived today.
I got a cupcake shaped money box to go with the one I got last year and a mug that say "I go from 0 to b*tch in 1.6 seconds" I hate the b-word with a passion and view it as the worst thing someone can call me.
DH got a Lynx body set that gives him asthma attacks and a mug with "I am a TW*T" written on the bottom of it.
I really don't know what she was thinking this year. I was worried about the presents I have sent to them, but I'm not anymore as at least I put some thought into them.0 -

Oh gosh those mugs sound awful, I would be unimpressed with those too. It amazes me the little thought some people put into presents, I mean if they're going to put that little effort in they'd be better off not buying a present for someone rather than some random tat.0
