  • I have read your thread and have nothing useful to add that has not been posted already. I just didnt want to read and run.

I do hope you find a chance to update your thread and let us know how you are doing and I truly hope that things work out for you. Take care, be strong, wishing you gentle days x

Nothing really practical to add - just a suggestion. Create a box of treats for you for when you move. It will be stressful and better to have all the bubble bath, wine, trashy mag, tea and tissues all in one place for that first night IYSWIM.

  • Thanks everyone

Thansk Memorygirl for the thought of a pamper box for me - I cannot think of something better to do - a little sos kit for when the day comes. I know it will be soul destroying when it comes but something for my sanity sounds like it will ease the mental pain of the day xx
  • With no kids together it is hardly the end of the world but I think he deserves a little more than "I'm off, have a nice life" sort of thing.

From a purely practical perspective, he will be expecting a contribution to joint expenditure for the months after you leave and may have already budgeted for this. To just drop him in it so to speak is unfair.

  • Thanks for that - however I am not dropping him in it financially - I will be leaving him with nec. forms for benefits that he will become entitled to when I go (including tax credits and sdp for council tax) - I will also be leaving him with half of our savings (which he hasnt put a penny to as the account is in my name but which I have saved every month for our future, holidays, house repairs, car repairs etc etc)
  • Hey BB! I also didn't want to read & run. I think your at the stage now that everything around you is calming and you know exactly what to do & how to do it. It was the 'unknown' that scared me. You have a very good head on your shoulders and your at peace with your decision so I wish you all the best on your new journey.

Just wanted to say good luck and keep us posted.
  • Good Luck, I read the whole thread, and it's nice to see someone who is planning on splitting, but making sure the Ex will be okay (ie. leaving half the savings) that is really mature... and I wish you nothing but the best for your future x
