Well it depends on the gap uder your couch lol, but the whole frame just pulls apart easily (I usually stash mine in 2 sections) so the width is only as wide as one of the plastic edges

PP- well done on getting the job!

Thinking about those lap frames, I'm feeling really dumb :o. Don't you have to get a frame that's as wide as the widest aida you ever use? With my normal frame I have a stupidly wide, huge, unwieldy thing as I thought I had to get a massive one. How do you do a HAED (or anything big!) on a small frame?

I just fold/roll up excess fabric and pin it to the side of the frame.:)

If you get a huge frame for an HAED, you won't be able to ever use it for smaller projects - unless you start pinning fabric to larger pieces of material which is just a faff.

soulie what kit are you needing threads for? i have a few under my bed that i'll probably never stitch and could have a looksy.

Hi chicky, it's the Christmas Kisses one by Margaret Sherry, (the mouse and robin) that came with WOXC in November I think?
I only need the light green thread I think, will have to double check.

PP Congratulations on getting the job
Mrs MP Thank you so much for your efforts on my behalf and apologies if it took up a lot of your time re-reading the mags again.

Decided on a plan for the weekend, which is to spring clean the box room and sort out all the charts, fabrics, books etc and decide which ones are going to the auction site and which ones are def' keepers and work on a schedule. Sounds so easy written down!!!

I've been given some beautiful hand dyed variegated threads - any suggestions for a project to use them? How do I know how much they will cover? I know how to work out the fabric required for a design, but how do you work out the quantity of thread?
I was thinking maybe some kind of band sampler perhaps as I have 34 skeins, but only one of each colour.

See, I knew I was being thick :D
I folded a design up years ago and it only occured to me to fold it inside the frame, under the design. You can probably guess how that worked out :rotfl: :rotfl: I've never been known for my common sense!! Since then I've always used a huge frame.

I love reading this thread - it just makes my 'want to do' list even longer - lol!!

If anyone has any small kits/cover kits that they don't want or know they won't sew, I would be happy to take them off your hands. Not long moved into our home and I would like some smaller kits just to brighten the place up until it is exactly how I'd like it (which may take some time).

Have you tried asking on the WOXC facebook group (i assume it has one) incase there's anyone there with a kit going spare?
loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:
