anyone got issue 110 of Cross Stitch Crazy this one ? is it worth buying the magazine just for the lickle ted chart on the front ? from the cover, it doesn't seem likes there is much worth stitching ??

why have I gained an obsession with lickle ted?

Opinions needed please. Is it better to buy a chart or kit? I have seen a lovely design in an old magazine called 'Seaside Living' of 5 beachhuts in a row. The chart is £6.95 and the full kit is £22.95. Looks like there would be a lot of colours so maybe pricey to set the kit up myself.

The design is from stitchdirect.com but there is no picture on their website. Saw it in one of their adverts in a magazine.

might be cheaper to buy the mag then adapt the colours to suit your stash?

I do buy a lot of kits but think I prefer buying the chart and the threads separately because then its what I would call a relaxed stitch ? i.e. I don't have to worry about using the wrong colour because the threads (if not presorted) are difficult to sort and there are lots of similiar colours. Also I don't have to worry about running out and I can sub colours if I prefer something another shade or its what I have already have.

I also think it makes it more unique if you change things.

I'm counting down to going home and chilling on the sofa :j plus one more day then the weekend.

Would appreciate thoughts or ideas..... after a garden themed design to stitch in honour of relative who has secured first prize for having the best allotment. Would prefer something simple i.e. card sized or even keyring shaped as would like to get stitched quickly. I do recall there being a garden alphabet in World of Cross Stitching quite a few years ago now. If anyone remembers this, can you let me know what issue it was?!

    Chart v Kit
I prefer chart every time where possible, I feel like I'm throwing my money away by buying a kit. Plus, I get to choose my favourite faric if I want to.

I am really struggling to finish this medieval lady - I got in from work last night, sat down at 10pm with stitching on my knee and didn't even get the needle threaded cos I fell asleep sitting up :o

On the bright side I'm halfway through charting the song for my mum, just looking at borders to go round it. I have found three ideas which I am going to mash together to make a unique one. Because the words re so plain I can get away with a fancy border. I would have loved to use the 'arabesque' aida which has a beautiful gold pattern on it but I couldn't get it in 20ct which is the size I'm using.
