Right - time to catch up properly, have just spent the last 2 days popping in and out. We have had gorgeous weather today - you would think it was summer or something!! Today we went out to see 'Brave' at the cinema with my mum and my sister & her family then we all went out for dinner, it was a lovely day :)

Maria - I love that 'fairy dust' phrase, and could see myself doing my own design based on it. I think hubby was mean about the filofax and you shoudl challenge him to see how good he could manage to do something crafty!! I am also the last person to be able to give advice about selling cross stitch, a you can tell by y collection which I have done nothing with:o I shall keep an eye out for good ideas from anyone.

nmm - WHY is the BEAUTIFUL Czar sitting in the spare room?;)

JCS1 - Glad to hear you got some frames. When we get closer to Christmas they get some nice red ones in, so look out for those being reduced later in the year ;) Hope you haven't spend too much money! (You'll get me banned from the site lol)

mrs mp - Hope you are all ok, I have been thinking about you x :(

Shelly - Yes the mount comes out and without it the frame is 11x7.5inches. Hope that helps

Soulie!!!!! Why did you make me look at that site? Now I want to stitch Twilight Shimmer as well, and hubby says it looks really nice too. :rotfl:I'm going to have to buy it now since it's half price.......tsk :p

Ailsb - Welcome back, hope you had a lovely holiday. What did you manage to see at the Olympics? (me =jealous);)

Louise - put it this way, I have 12 pieces waiting to be washed/ironed and have frames all ready for them :rotfl: But it was the spur I needed to get some of the finished items framed, some must have been done 10-15 years ago:eek:

Soulie - I'll be having a look at that site tomorrow lunchtime :p

"Keep calm..." is finally finished, might have to resort to winding thread onto bobbins whilst watching olympics now.

Talking of which, have a nice gold post box in town, thanks to the gold medal that Anna Watkins got in the rowing:T
  • i will not look at the sale, i will not look at the sale

thanks beg, asilb and louise, i have calmed down a bit now and have forgiven him........ this time! lol

i will not look at the sale......

had my rainbows tutor round tonight so no sewing done :( but i have to say that i am getting sick of sewing fish (xmas present for my bro) only 1 more fish and the backstitch and writing to go, think i need a kick up the backside to get it finished as i have about 60 other things to finish!!!

i will not look at the sale.......

louise, i thought the phrase was sweet to, cant remember where i heard it though and thought it was perfect for her fairy quilt, now if someone could either teach me to sew as fast as you or give me 8-10 extra hours a day i might get some more of it done.

i will not look at the sale.......

have agreed to sew some xmas cards for my rainbows group to fundraise at xmas as well as making snow man soup ect
there are 8 girls in my group and we are hoping to put a small box of stuff to sell in the church as well, how many cards would you make because i dont want to make to many and waste my time (when i could be doing quilt squares) but i also dont want to make to few!

i will not look at the sale.......

    sorry for the long post

    night all

Well the frame is quite deep at the back so i think i need some string or chain to hang it as a normal nail/screw just wont do, i must get my thinking cap on to get the job done

Is there a Home Bargains near you? I had a hanging set from there recently. It was either 59p or 99p and some hanging wire & lots of different types of hanging 'things' in. Very useful! Lots of good How To guides online if you need them. Just get it up on the wall soon, so you can admire your good work!

I FINALLY (after goodness knows how many years-less than 12, though!) got our front door sign put up at the weekend. It is lovely-wooden, with an oak leaf painted on it. Grandma bought it for us a long time ago and we came across it in a box recently and vowed to get the tool box out this summer and put it up. It took some drilling, mind. I love DIY, but not done drilling with masonry drill bits before. I've not really used rawl plugs before, to be honest.

Right, it's far too late for me. Bedtime, I think. Night all!

Sorry for the off topic, did you use the hammer drill setting for the masonry? my OH tried to drill some holes and thought it was impossible till he realised he forgot to change the setting :rotfl:

Yep, we must have very solid walls! First time I've used a drill with a hammer setting. My pink drill set doesn't have that! Lol... But it's for indoor stuff like wood, so not a 'proper' man tool.

*cough* 50% off sale at HAED :money:

ETA. I bought three charts, total cost under £10 :D
I got QS Twilight Shimmer, also QS Wizard of Oz (though the large version is tempting too lol), and because I fancied something different I also got QS Seahorse, thought it would look awesome on some multi-coloured fabric :D

    Uh oh!

Love how they are calling it a stash enhancement sale :rotfl:

Got some money for my birthday (last Sunday :D) that's burning a hole in my pocket so I have a feeling my stash is about to be enhanced...

Must try not to go too overboard!

Have been making progress with 'Love you Dad', not much to go now. Have been an awful cafe member though and not posted any pics, will try and sort that out as soon as I can :A
Also can't believe it's August already, will need to make a start on my Christmas projects
