Cross Stitch Cafe 2012

This is the reason I have put Earth aside for the moment and chosen a simpler stitch. I'm loving it, gutted for the GB synchro divers this afternoon though
Speaking of the simpler stitch, here's an update on the fairies I started on Friday
I'm liking using the variegated thread for the borders, although it's more time consuming than stitching the actual fairies
This is looking lovely. I have now discovered that the series did not start with January Fairy but with the March Fairy. Although the magazine was dated March 2012 it was actually published in January 2012 so there are 4 designs to come which should appear before the end of the year.
Louise - you must send in a photo of the finished projec to the magazine. They are bound to print it and you would get a small prize0 -
beg. Nice progress.
Louise. Agree with the others, those fairies are really cute!
JCS. Like the 'keep calm'. As you say, looks ideal for when the olympics are on
I really like your next design too.:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:0 -
Really loving everyones updates, the fairys are really cute and borders look lovely and i DISLIKE cute.
The framed pieces also looked stunning. All my working pieces are fiddly/detailed. I haven't stitched in soo long
so think I should look for something Olympic friendly too. Before the opening ceremony I had no interest but now am well and truly hooked and really happy Freesat have 24 extra dedicated channels.

Agree with all those who like the faeries! Very cute :T
Here is Mr. Grumpy all finished and in a temp. frame, like others I stitched him because he was an easy stitch while the Olympics were on, so now he is done, I am working on Mr. Happy

Louise - love the fairies.
JCS1 - nearly there with Keep Calm and it looks great.
Soulie - love Mr Grumpy. Looking forward to Mr Happy
No stitching so far today. Daren't get it out yet as I really need to do some housework and got a gym class tonight.
Take care everyone

Evening everyone,
Well, I looked into the cost of a floor frame for the sheep/map, but not ordered one yet. Think it will have to wait a few months to give me time to clear out the junk from the front room so it could go in there!
Picked up 2 pictures from the framers at lunchtime, the 4 hearts is one I finished a few weeks ago, the stained glass window is one from the "drawer of finished but not framed" projects (i keep trying to get an 'old' one done at the same time as a new one.
Have a good weekend,
Judith

I haven't heard back from the email I sent to WOXS last week - maybe they don't send acknowledgements?
Thank you for sending me your March/April fairies FOS:T, how weird that they started the series with the March fairy. I am far too impatient to wait 4 months to complete this (I'm thinking I want it by the weekend lol!) So I have put together my own fairies for Jan/Feb and will see how I get on.subtle_minx wrote: »Really loving everyones updates, the fairys are really cute and borders look lovely and i DISLIKE cute.
LOL. They do look better as a set rather than individually tbh, although they would be handy to make up a last minute card because each one can be done in less than 2 hours
b_e_g - Sleeping beauty is coming along nicely
JCS1 - I'm loving the Carry on stitch, I like those retro blue shades that are really popular for the GB flag at the moment.
As for the horses...no one is going to notice if you change the trees a bit
brednall - What sort of things are you doing for your craft stall? I've got some small finished card sized pieces of stitching I could donate - would you have time to make some cards with them?
Soulie - Mr Grumpy looks good, how many of the Mr Men do you plan to stitch?Cross Stitch Cafe member No. 32012 170-194 2013 195-207.Hello Kitty ballerina 208.AVA 209.OLIVIA 210.ELLA 211.CARLA 212.LOUISE 213.CHARLEY 214.Mother & Child 215.Stop Faffing Completed 2014 216.Stitchers Sampler. 217.Let Them Be Small 218.Keep Calm 219. I'm having a nice afternoon - not long back from the hairdresser, hubby has taken DS2 with him to his parents so I just have the 2 quiet ones left.:rotfl: DS1 has just offered to make me a cuppa, so I'm going to stitch and watch olympics until it's time to make dinnerCross Stitch Cafe member No. 32012 170-194 2013 195-207.Hello Kitty ballerina 208.AVA 209.OLIVIA 210.ELLA 211.CARLA 212.LOUISE 213.CHARLEY 214.Mother & Child 215.Stop Faffing Completed 2014 216.Stitchers Sampler. 217.Let Them Be Small 218.Keep Calm 219. Hi all
I just started up with my cross stitch again last night I haven't done it ages and suddenly really missed it.
I suffered with stress/depression a while ago and I though this would really help to chill out doing in front of the tv & also stop me snacking.
I treated myself to a Titanic kit as I'm obsessed with it lol and thought it would encourage me to keep going.
So got home last night and well...... I'm hooked :j
Why did I stop doing this?! It's the most relaxing evening I have had in yonks even when my kitten Ziva decided to steal the pattern, then the threads and then tried to eat the material :rotfl:
Oh well that's mean staying up to the small hours "just to finish this last bit"First Date 08/11/2008, Moved In Together 01/06/2009, Engaged 01/01/10, Wedding Day 27/04/2013, Baby Moshie due 29/06/2019 :T0
