Louise. E Company design looks really good.
Thanks beg and subtle minx for your 'reviews'I'll admit that if I had tried the highlighters on a piece of paper in a shop I probably wouldn't have bought them at all but now I have them I'm going to have to use them up.
I was able to try the frixion rollerball pens in Staples and they were brilliant! Took hardly any rubbing at all for the ink to disappear. In hindsight I should have bought them instead but I thought that the highlighters would be equally as good/easy to use.:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. How about the Noticeboard pages in Cross Stitcher mag? Small ad mentioning mags for sale ? e-mail for list ?? I'm not quite sure how you get the advert in the mag though. Will try to dig a mag out and have a look...

Well, we ventured to Hobbycraft but I won't be going again in a hurry. A terrible drive from my house though what seemed like a million sets of traffic lights. They have moved all the needlecraft stuff upstairs which isn't good with a toddler and a pushchair!!!! Then they decided to test the fire alarms while we were in store which put the lift out of action for ages. I forgot how much more expensive everything is there too.
The only plus side was I say a lovely smaller Dimensions kit but it is £4 cheaper on sewandso so glad I didn't buy it! Needless to say I won't be going again in a hurry. Think I'll stick to internet shopping.
EmmaThat's exactly what happens to me - I get all excited at the thought of a trip to HobbyCraft but once I'm there spend the whole time thinking "I could get that cheaper online" and end up buying nothing....
I've never been evacuated from there though :rotfl:
I did buy some threads in town last week at 90p each when I know I could have got them much cheaper online but I needed them asap and I knew if I bought them online, I would buy lots more to make it worth the postage ??!!!
I do begrudge the prices Hobbycraft charge although my Hobbycraft lasted all of 5 minutes because it was in with Woolworths. I too buy online although i fear this is the death of the small independent retailer.
OFF TOPIC
I test the fire alarms in my office but I do warn anyone in the meeting rooms that they are about to go off! I'm dreading doing a proper evacuation/fire test though!
I can smile about this now but many years ago, during my college years, I worked at a certain diy chain. I was meant to be working one Thursday evening but couldn't .... That evening, the store caught fire and had to be evacuated. I recall the Please evacate the store message that had to be read over the tannoy was a bit of a faff and I really can't imagine that one of the staff members took the time to read this. It all got quite serious with the automatic doors failing and the store going up in less than 3 minutes  but it was late in the day and not very busy. everyone got out and although the store was destroyed, we all kept our jobs. It has stuck with me over the years how nice that was.0 -
Evening everyone,
Well, I looked into the cost of a floor frame for the sheep/map, but not ordered one yet. Think it will have to wait a few months to give me time to clear out the junk from the front room so it could go in there!
Picked up 2 pictures from the framers at lunchtime, the 4 hearts is one I finished a few weeks ago, the stained glass window is one from the "drawer of finished but not framed" projects (i keep trying to get an 'old' one done at the same time as a new one.
Have a good weekend,

Louise - E-company is brill well done.
brednall - i do the same, see loads i like look at the price and think "could get it cheaper!".
they test our work fire alarms at 10ish am every tuesday and have for at least the last 6 years. and every tuesday at 10am we all jump cause we forget they are going to do it.
lanc_lady - if you are on facebook we have the MSE for sale page.
or there is preloved
yay stitchitywitchity had the irridescent lurex flex blue aida in fat quarter pennies cheaper. ordered at about 10pm wednesday and it arrived today so can make a start on 'if'.
re: erasable highlighters. it isn't that they need to be used on shiny paper (like a magazine)?? Then they kind of skim the surface instead of being absorbed and would erase easier??
well I was looking forward to a weekend out and about with the boys (we normally stay in to avoid transport fares but have the tram pass this weekend). only to discover it's Tramlines (big music festivle in town) so the trams are gonna be rammed all weekend and town is a definate no-go area it's bad enough on a normal weekendloves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:0 -
doh! stupid chicky!!! Just bought these needles but you can tell i was asleep as I gotsize 28 not size 24. consequently they keep falling out of 14ct aida!!
cost me £2 + 55p postage so if you use evenweave or something with tiny holes and can make use of them for £1.50 (includes postage) let me know and I can pop em in the post. rather then put em back on ebay.
(I know I could send em back but it's not worth the faff and cost of recorded postage)loves how my "I've been censored" signature has been censored. LOL. Happy Christmas. :xmastree:0 -

I promised myself that if I was going to be spending my birthday money on more cross stitch stash then it would be for stash that was unusual/not something I would normally buy.
I think I have achieved my aim :j and that I will be kept very busy.....
Dear Mr Boss
Due to an unforeseen cross stitch dilemma, I will not be reporting for work until 10 January 2013.....

I have tried to tidy up my blog page today. I've also changed the blog address so if you are following me, you might not find me unless you click on this
http://iwouldratherbecrossstitching.blogspot.co.uk/
If anyone keeps a blog, I would be interested to know who your blog provider?
My blog is with google - I've had a play around with the settings but you don't seem to be able to change much unless I'm missing something?
I would like include pics of my stash as the background if I can.0 -
Couldn't read and run without saying to JSC1 that both those designs are gorgeous. Do you have any more details on the designs/charts etc?
