    Project 182. - E Company Picture

Started this on Monday and finished earlier tonight. This will be the centrepiece in a display about the company ('scuse the blurred name and unit locations):). I put it together myself and the flags are the ones fromt the recent Crosstitcher magazine (I found them online to download for 69p, saved buying the whole mag)

nmm - Congrats on RM finish, it looks great:T

b_e_g - looking forward to your first sleeping beauty update :) It's so weird that one of those little 10x10 squares is 100 stitches - so much work, such a little space lol

JCS1 - I would be tempted to stitch Britain and leave the sheep off lol, that would save half the time :rotfl:

Mags - Hard Frost is looking simply lovely:T

Going to the framers tomorrow - I 'think' I'm going to get the map of Europe framed, hoping it will only cost around £50-ish. I reserve the right to change my mind if something else jumps out the box at me in the morning lol. :o:D

lousie E company picture looks great im sure the recipient will be thrilled. youve planned it out perfectly.

lancs lady sometimes there are ads in the back of mags selling things but again postage could be steep how about shop window cards? or small ads in local newspapers

got my priorities right today, i did an hours stitching before anything else this morning, hd had to get up early to drop DD2 off at the station so i took my stitching up with me and did some while listening to the rain

Louise - E Company stitch looks wonderful. Frame and mount really set it off. Brilliant centrepiece for the display. Re the no of stitches in such a small area - DH was calculating how many stitches I have to do in SB - I think it was getting towards 60,000 . He just laughed when I told him that I had got 750 done so far. :rotfl:

Mrs. M - well done on booking in some early morning stitching time. I think I'm going to find trouble in fitting any in today :(

shelly - have tried the pilot highlighters and up to now I am really unimpressed. I left the ink to dry and then tried to erase it and it just didn't seem to budge. However DH has tried them again and it appears to be working of sorts providing you don't highlight any printing - great eh. I wonder if they have to be used so long before they start to work.

My 50 Anchor threads from fleabay arrived today - really good service as I only ordered them on Wed evening. They were free P & P and were sent first class too.

    *** OFF TOPIC***

Warning for any chocoholics in the Cafe. Has anyone tried Tesco Finest Chocolate Tea??? Well I was attracted to it last week - I think as it contained the 'c' word thats what did it. It is actually chocolate and vanilla but it turns out the vanilla is really overpowering. I have tried it a couple of times now and think it is a no no for me. It does however leave a fairly pleasant smell in the room.

Have only got 20 mins left before I have to go out - any time to stitch - no I didn't think so. :(

    Take care

You have to be firm and fair, not hard enough to rub the page away but firm enough to cause enough friction. I find holding the paper taut helps. I have just tried rubbing out the chart out of the oriental faves mag of the geisha head (dried over a fortnight ago). I had used a pink highlighter, black ballpoint and red pen and used the rubber of one of the others (I have all the colours) and it rubbed out perfectly on the page in the mag... so not sure what to say. Persevere perhaps. I love these pens!

Btw Louise - once again in awe of your speedy stitching!

Well, we ventured to Hobbycraft but I won't be going again in a hurry. A terrible drive from my house though what seemed like a million sets of traffic lights. They have moved all the needlecraft stuff upstairs which isn't good with a toddler and a pushchair!!!! Then they decided to test the fire alarms while we were in store which put the lift out of action for ages. I forgot how much more expensive everything is there too.

The only plus side was I say a lovely smaller Dimensions kit but it is £4 cheaper on sewandso so glad I didn't buy it! Needless to say I won't be going again in a hurry. Think I'll stick to internet shopping.

That's exactly what happens to me - I get all excited at the thought of a trip to HobbyCraft but once I'm there spend the whole time thinking "I could get that cheaper online" and end up buying nothing....

I've never been evacuated from there though :rotfl:
