ohhh *Louise* what a fabby hubby. Enjoy your days out, anything nice planned?
Re: the wolf design funnily enough I know exactly the one you meant without any extra explaination which can only make me assume I have seen it advertised in the back adverty page of cross stitch mags.
YAY i won the mag with the 'if' design in it now I have the perfect excuse to use some pretty colour or hand dyed fabric. It suggests linin but I'm still not sure how confident I am to stitch on it (or evenweave) but it'll be HUGE on aida which defo leads me to think i will only do 1 verse of it - will have to work out sizes in a bit.
For older members the 'paso Doble' kit eventually sold last week so thats another £15 donation for Mind.

Chicky-great news about the kit selling. Thanks for that! And give evenweave a go. Linen I'm not such a fan of, but evenweave is lovely to stitch on. I'm sure you'll enjoy it once you try it.
I have a small favour to ask those of you on Facebook. Could you please

He is great - we are going to Edinburgh Zoo (£50+ for a family) and going to visit Royal Yacht Britannia. It's one of those attractions which is almost on the doorstep but we never get round to seeing, DS2 will love it...I'm just going for a nosey lol, see how the other half live :rotfl:Ruth_honey wrote: ». Morning all
Just a quick question, does anyone use one of those magnetic boards, and if so are they any good?
I was just looking at this one on the Sew and Sew site:-
http://www.sewandso.co.uk/Products/7-x-10-Magnetic-Board__DMC-M230.aspxSt. Francis said: “A man who uses his hands is a laborer. One who uses his hands and mind is a craftsman. He who uses his hands, and his mind, and his heart is an artist.”0 -
I've decided that I am probably going to treat myself to the cushion material but would welcome guidance on what size material to buy? Someone has already commented that the piece costing £9 odd will be tight so I will push the boat out and buy the piece costing £16 odd but which piece is best as there are two different options...
50 x 70 cm / 19 x 27 inches is £9.48 but this isn't big enough as I need material 55 x 55.
50 x 140 cm / 19 x 55 inches is £16.93
70 x 100 cm / 27 x 39 inches is also £16.93
then we have the 100 x 140 cm / 39 x 55 inches at a  of £33.86.
Having typed the above, it would seem sensible to buy the 70 x 100 cm but this isn't going to get me two cushions and I guess if I want two, I would be better to order two x 70 x 100 cm rather than one 100 x 140 cm ? (as I need two 55 x 55 pieces) Typing it out has helped my head clear as I was getting very confused!
The material seems expensive but I do have birthday money leftover plus I won £10 on the lottery last night so do I go for it or wait to see if the material gets reduced or is there another material I should try ? (thats cheaper).
The 50 x 140 piece can be cut into 2 pieces each 50 x 55 and you will be left with a piece 50 x 30 which is a useable size so 3 pieces of fabric for £16.93 isn't too bad. I'm sending you a pm about discounts at Willow Fabrics0
