Has anyone got Cross Stitcher 255(current issue)? I saw it in the newsagents today & I really like the ice cream charts on the cover, but didn't have enough money to buy the magazine.

Yes I do - pm me your details and I will send it to you. I won't be stitching it.

    Hi ladies.

Here's CC slide all done, well it's as finished as it's ever going to be. In the end I only left out the backstitching on the hogs jumper. It looked too harsh, looks much better without it. Haven't ironed it yet, will do so when the iron is out next.

Yay, the pic came out ok :T
Used a proper camera instead of my phone camera and got the pic onto my pc ok but wasn't sure if photobucket had re-sized it correctly.

I have learnt something new today :D

That looks great, Shelly. I customised a CC kit when I stitched a football themed one for my Dad's 50th. Changed the shirt colours to green as he's a Plymouth Argyle fan. It makes you feel very creative making the design 'yours' doesn't it?

    Hi all

Shelly - It looks great, very cheerful, I'm sure they will love it :j

    ***Off Topic***
Had a lovely surprise today, hubby came home and handed me £100  - he sold a second hand tool box to someone and told me to decide what to do with the money :T So that will pay for our family day out on Saturday and another one later in the month :j

    ***On Topic***

Accrosstown order arrived today so I'm going to sit and top up my thread bobbins while I watch Eastenders (Oh my life is so glamorous!):rotfl:

Regarding Crosstitcher mag's flags - I tried downloading the file from the makingspot but keep getting a runtime error :( Would someone be kind enough to email me a copy please?

    Sorry for the multiple posts...

I've been investigating the cushion design featured in Cross Stitch Collection. The material (19 count ariosa ref 3711/309 (Mocha) is available from Willow Fabrics but the mag says I need 22x22in (56cm x 56cm) but for sale, Willow Fabrics have 50 x 70 cm (£9.48) or 70 x 100cm (£16.93) Would I get away with the 50 x 70 cm material ?? i.e 6cm short of which it says I need ?

I'm also wondering whether I might be able to stitch this design on 14 or 16 count aida - I know it won't be the same as stitching it on the ariosa but welcome views from those more knowledgeable than me!

I've decided that I am probably going to treat myself to the cushion material but would welcome guidance on what size material to buy? Someone has already commented that the piece costing £9 odd will be tight so I will push the boat out and buy the piece costing £16 odd but which piece is best as there are two different options...

    50 x 70 cm / 19 x 27 inches is £9.48 but this isn't big enough as I need material 55 x 55.

    50 x 140 cm / 19 x 55 inches is £16.93

    70 x 100 cm / 27 x 39 inches is also £16.93

    then we have the 100 x 140 cm / 39 x 55 inches at a  of £33.86.

Having typed the above, it would seem sensible to buy the 70 x 100 cm but this isn't going to get me two cushions and I guess if I want two, I would be better to order two x 70 x 100 cm rather than one 100 x 140 cm ? (as I need two 55 x 55 pieces) Typing it out has helped my head clear as I was getting very confused!

The material seems expensive but I do have birthday money leftover plus I won £10 on the lottery last night so do I go for it or wait to see if the material gets reduced or is there another material I should try ? (thats cheaper).
