like the idea of a chat thread but as its mostly regulars on here is it a huge problem if we go off topic sometimes?

see thats what I thought because we are all so lovely on here but I also thought it might get confusing having two threads running alongside each other ? but then also thought it would be nice to have a thread where we can talk about random stuff and not feel guilty. And I like the idea of setting non cross stitch related challenges :j

Honestly, I have absolutely no issues with anyone going off topic, and no one should apologise for doing it :)

I like reading about random as well as stitchy stuff lol :D

I like that our lives come into the cafe every now and then. If it's totally off topic, just mark it that in the title & people who don't want to read non stitchy stuff can skip that post.

Was looking through some of my stash earlier & I have loads of keying blanks. Thought I'd make up a little keying as a gift for one of the instructors at my gym. It's her birthday next week & she's really lovely, although I don't know much about her personal life. Decided stitching her initial would probably be the best idea. That only took about 15 mins (took longer to find a suitable sized alphabet!) and I was enjoying it, so ended up stitching an 'R' then a 'J' & 'A' too. I've got some cute snowflake tree hangers that I could use for Xmas presents with something tiny stitched in. At least it's cheaper than buying lots of gifts. Had a real shopping bug this week. Can't seem to stop buying things online. Still, Blossom has now got a nice new scratching post which she loves. Lol!

Fair comments about separate thread. lets just stick with this one for now then. :T I'm guessing we will have to start a new Cafe thread soon (once it gets to 5000 odd posts??) Oh and what a fab idea about putting off topic in the subject heading - why didn't I think of that ??

Day 3 of operation return to work and already I'm stupidly tired and fit for nowt but vegging on the sofa. operation housework just isn't happening! The weekend cannot come soon enough!

I also like the mix of stitch and non stitchy chat, like a l'il family :p
Marking O.T. is a good idea but i bet most of us still read it, we're a nosey bunch, hehe

Random q. Those that buy mags etc and don't like the charts, what do you do with them? sell them, give them away for p+p/SAE etc. There's a couple that I would be interested in and cannot afford mags at mo, apart from my trial sub, still waiting for mag though hmmph.
Also anyone recommend any good bookmark charts, planning on making lots of diff ones this year for presents. Also on average how long does it take ppl to stitch them up.

So far, mainly due to pain and tiredness I have only done a bit of mums b'day one and it's her b'day in 11 days. Hope I get it finished at least.

Just out of interest, are any of you fans of the tv gameshow Deal or no Deal ?? We used to watch it all the time when it first came out but stopped watching as it proved impossible to keep up with it as it was on 5 days a week I think and our sky box was filled with them!

We watched it while on our hols last week - got quite addicted to it and just wondering whether to start series linking it again...

    Oh forgot to ask/say.
Anyone heard of a site called stitchpad. it's uk based. just wondering if genuine or a dubious one, seem sharing goes on and free download section listed by designers and categories. just curious as don't want to knowingly infringe on designers work.

I catch the occasional show. used to be more fun when OH wasn't complaining and trying to explain the probabilities and chances... numbers just go over my head. I like it more for the psyche aspect and the competitors reaction and interaction.
