Evening everyone,
Loving all the update pictures, all looking very impressive.
I've finally finished the 4 hearts, just in the proces of washing/ironing/framing this week, and then need to decide which one to do next from the cupboard, but think will probably be:

Only 4 colours, lots of blocks, so hoping it will come along quite quickly (we're in the middle of changing accounting system at work, so I need something I don't have to concentrate too hard on :rotfl:)
New Cross Stitcher arrived today, if anyone wants the Welcome Banner chart by Emily Peacock that came with it, then let me know.

In case anyone interested, just stumbled on this and it's just started.

I treated myself to Cross Stitch Collection yesterday while I was in town. Here is my review:
Blue Meadow Cushion
This is unusual and not something I would normally go for but it really appeals. I'm going to see how much the material will cost and may treat myself from my birthday money. It looks like its a mixture of cross stitch and other stitches so I will need to look at this carefully to check that I will be able to manage it - I know I shall probably need help to make it into a cushion!
Jane Greenoff Techniques - Assisi
Not sure I will stitch as not keen on the design but interesting article.
River Rambler
Nice design - probably won't stitch but will save for a rainy day. (just in case!)
Advert for Bothy Threads -
Like the owl designs but not enough to buy.
Fun in the sun
Love these (teddy bear designs) and the main reason I bought the mag. Definitely going to stitch some of these particularly the bear holding the daisy chain.
Glorious Goldwork feature
Not really interested.
Sweet Pea Fairy (luxury foldout chart)
Not for me. Is anyone stitching these?? I do love Joan Elliott's work but not the fairy designs.
August material packs (advert)
Not sure what to make of these offers for material packs/whether they are worth it/a rip off?
Creature Comforts
Nice design / sleepy cat in flowerpot but too much going on and not sure I like enough to stitch.
next month - Bird Table
Like the look of this - will have to make a diary note to buy/browse when arrives in shops.
Feeling fruity
A possible stitch.
Advert for Your favourite mag on Apple Newstand
How do you mark the chart off if its on your Ipad??
Moments of Joy
Nice enough. Not sure I will stitch.
Book Cover
Interesting article. Must refer back and read.
Reading charts and key chart
Design looks ok. No pic of finished design though - not sure I will stitch.
Next month.
Wow full picture of bird design featured earlier in magazine. Looks amazing but lots of work! and dread to think how much to frame. If you have this month's issue and can tell me what the different birds are, would be grateful!)
Also like the cat design and owl keyring. Definitely going to be a must buy :T0 -
I think I would like to buy a tote bag that I can stitch some cross stitch on and wonder if anyone has any ideas on where I can get such a thing from? I think I would prefer something where I can use my own design?
I found this but its pricey and I'm not 100% keen on the design.0 -
Sorry for the multiple posts...
I've been investigating the cushion design featured in Cross Stitch Collection. The material (19 count ariosa ref 3711/309 (Mocha) is available from Willow Fabrics but the mag says I need 22x22in (56cm x 56cm) but for sale, Willow Fabrics have 50 x 70 cm (£9.48) or 70 x 100cm (£16.93) Would I get away with the 50 x 70 cm material ?? i.e 6cm short of which it says I need ?
I'm also wondering whether I might be able to stitch this design on 14 or 16 count aida - I know it won't be the same as stitching it on the ariosa but welcome views from those more knowledgeable than me!0 -

I saw some on Silkweavers website earlier today. http://www.needleworkersdelight.com/OverDyedSoloSale.html
It's a US website, but I know people who have ordered from them before, so I'd be happy to use them. And the hand dyed fabrics are AMAZING! That's what I stitched A Good Marriage on recently.Cross Stitch Cafe Monthly Challenge Member #27

Thanks to all the girls in the Cross Stitch Cafe! You're all fantastic! :A0 -
Jane Greenoff Techniques - Assisi
Interested in this technique, so it would be interesting to read about, might look on google.
Glorious Goldwork feature
New one on me, similar to black work
Sweet Pea Fairy (luxury foldout chart)
Not for me. Is anyone stitching these?? I do love Joan Elliott's work but not the fairy designs.
I am slowly trying to collect the JE fairies, if you're looking for a home for it, pm and we can sort something out please.
can't advise on tote, I'll do some research but I know there are some good tutorials online for making one from scratch, doesn't look too hard, also think there was something in a cs spring special mag cpl months back, let me know if you want me to check.
here's a cpl of links for premade bags:

EVening all
Just spent the last 2 hours sorting and organising all my threads into numerical order in the 2 boxes purchased today from home bargains. Still got some to wind but bobbins numbered and in their place ready & waiting. Bet I'm still missing some colours for the small projects I had in mind!!!
Night night everyone
