Aneres - may I pick your brains please? On the kit that you are doing is it 11 count? And if so are you using 2 strand of floss or 3?

Just about to start mine and not sure whether to use 2 or 3 strands and can't see anything int he instructions that say how many to use.

    Thanks for your help.

I'm using 2 strands, it didn't say on mine either but looking at the amount of thread I just presumed it would be two.

Oh and yes it's 11 count, I've given myself a tension headache with it today.

Aneres - that's great thank you. I thought it would be 2 strands. Oh well off to start now. I haven't stitched on such large count for years so hopefully it will "grow" quickly.

Ailsb, think I've got the counts mixed up mine is really small more like 18 count.

Edited to say I've added the stitches up and it's 14 count, for some reason it just feels smaller than usual.

It's taken a while, just doing 30 mins a day in my lunchbreak and it was very fiddlely! I think I'm keeping it, I'll make a coaster of it, it's too pretty to put in a drawer some where :)

Also managed to pick up the current issue of cross stitch Gold in Hobbycraft so I have the card designs by Joan Elliott :D

Well havent you all wrote loads in the past day or so.

mrs-moneypenny titanic is coming along great progress.

shelly tiger is coming along, you havent got much to do left now.

chicky your palace is looking great the backstitching has made a lot of difference, coils arent the best thing, but sometimes they help with the heavier side of things ;) if you get what I mean.

FOS I have always worked on aida and just brought a kit that I liked or fell in love with. I didnt really know much about different counts and different fabrics till I came on here. Still dont know a lot about them, I just go for the progect that I like and buy it. I also dont know about sizes, is so not good with things like that at all. I need to learn though.
Your couch companion looks great, I wish I could do things like that I have always wanted to make my own curtains and clothes and things like that but I dont have a sewing machine and I am not good with sizes. :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

    ruth_honey Blossom looks cute

sk00bie1 I went for the mixed grab bag. I will have to measure them up, would I do that in ins or cms ? I will also see if I can tell what they are as well. :rotfl:or have a try.
black cats are coming along, great progress
