  • Hi everyone. I love this thread even though I don't find enought time to read it all the time. Love the pics of all the completed and WiPs. And I hope that everyone with health issues has a better 2012.

I like to stitch Christmas themed projects during Dec and early Jan. Have finished Lizzie Kate (previous post) also these 2 small designs.

Why were you up at 5am Lou - did you also hear my cats tipping the bin over and scrabbling it around the kitchen?

    That noisy huh?

I was still awake at 6am :( Just been having trouble sleeping lately - can't clear my head enough to drop of. I was reading but turned the lappy on to look something up lol

Anyone see the retro sweetie jars in a recent WOXS? They are so cute - think I will stitch them for my sister...her ideal present is a big jar filled with jelly/chewy sweets lol

Sorry to hear that you're not sleeping - I went through a phase of that before Christmas. It stopped the day I broke up from work for the holidays, so I have to assume it was work stress. You've got stuff on your mind though haven't you - so you're bound to be worrying. Have you tried relaxation music to help you nod off again when you wake up in the night?

They were very noisy - both my neighbours have complained about the 4am rackett this morning. I just laughed at them - not much I can do about it is there!!

I need to go shopping and I don't want to. What can I stitch to postpone the trauma of Saturday Sainsburys....

have your shopping delivered! I usually pick my shopping whilst enjoying a glass of wine and then you can stitch while you are waiting for it to be delivered :T

  • Louise - my GP suggested a sleep technique that is supposed to help with clearing your mind so you can sleep. I am happy to share it with you if you promise not to laugh at me.

You tell your thoughts to f*** off. (You have to swear for it to work I am affraid). As each thought comes in to your head say it loudly and the thought should go away.

My GP paid to go on that sleep therapy course and that is the only bit of the course that has worked for any of my GP's patients.

I tried it once and it worked! Worth a try x
