    Evening Ladies
Well the results of my 24 hour ECG are back (some of you may remember I was strapped to it on 23rd December) and at one point my heartrate was 153 beats per minute  (normal range is up to 100 beats per minute).

Hope the Cardiologist can give you some answers augustsmummy. Do they have any idea what might be wrong? Coincidentally I'm sat here strapped up to my 24hr ECG right now. I won't find out the results for a month though, so they must be a lot quicker at checking them in your area than they are here! I had a cardiac MRI yesterday and that was horrid. I'm claustrophobic, so lying in the tube for an hour and a half made me really panicky :( I'm just glad its over with, but I hate waiting for results.

I haven't done any stitching in the last couple of days with the hospital appointments, but time to get on with it a bit today.

I love the little cat in the cup, and the progress shot of the big cat :)

Reading all these recommendations of the lap frames has made me think about asking for one for my birthday. Anything that could help me stitch quicker would be worth it!

    Hi Everyone

Sorry I've not been about for a (long) while. I've been working crazy hours right up until I packed it all in. I quit my job just before Christmas so now I can finally catch up on all those things that I enjoy doing and didn't have time for.

I might be stitching a photo for someone I know through the work I just quit. Does anyone know of a good free photo to chart site? or free software I can download? I tried the one in the links on the 2nd post of this thread but it's out of action.

If she likes the chart then she's going to pay me. She wants 6x8 inch on 28hpi evenweave (stitched over 2, so that's like 14hpi aida). I calculated that's 48 square inches and at 2 hours per square inch (is that realistic for photo stitch?) that's 96 hours of work. Would anyone like to venture a suggestion on what I should charge? She's not a friend, or even a close colleague. I've only met her once but she saw me doing a x-stitch project and now she'd like me to do one for her.

(inc general flowers, dogs, kitchens, blue hairy monsters, princesses, cartoons, lions, ducks...).

    Hello Katyliz,
My GP is thinking that I may have a tumour in my heart :(. So shall see what the Cardiologist has to say, but not seeing them till February, unless the letter from my GP speeds up the appointment. He says it is urgent in his opinion, and he will stress this to the consultant. But to be fair most if not all cardiology appointments are really important, so I shan't hold my breath.
My GP has done every test he can at this end, so hopefully diagnosis won't take too long.
I am pretty worried about it now.
24 hour ECG results normally take a week, but mine were delayed with Christmas. Saying that though if they knew what they were looking for it might have needed more analysis? maybe thats why yours will take longer?
Do they know what they are looking for in your case?

Hope everything goes ok for you.

Augustsmuumy - that sounds really worrying :( And it definitely sounds urgent, I hope your GP manages to get it pushed through quickly. Fingers crossed for you that it turns out to be something else more minor.

In my case they are testing me to see if I have my brothers heart condition. He is in the top percent risk category of sudden cardiac death and has had to have an internal defibrillator put in him. It's genetic, so I had to be checked.
I had an echocardiogram last year which showed problems with my valves and right ventricle, but they couldn't decide for definite if it is the same condition hence the further tests. I think they take ages to check all my results because I had open heart surgery as a child, so my heart doesn't look/sound 'normal' anyway, and they need to check how many of the abnormalities they find are down to that.
I don't know when I'll see my consultant, he'll get the results of my tests (at least a months wait) and then decide how urgent it is and when to call me back. So in a way not hearing could be a good thing.

It's difficult not to worry, but lets hope things turn out ok for both of us.

  • Aww Katyliz that sounds awful, what a thing to have hanging over you. I hope the results come back ok.

My GP said it is very rare and he just wants to check, and to try not to worry. I think he is just going through all the possibles so he doesn't miss anything.
(A so called Dr missed something huge, and I am now needing stomach operations to get rid of what he missed 2 years ago! so I think my GP is being extra cautious, which I guess is no bad thing.)
I shall see what the consultant makes of it all. I am trying to take my mind off it, but am struggling as the tachcardia is making me so tired and breathless. Fingers crossed my GP is wrong!
(sorry to bring the mood down on a Friday! I shall shut up whining now lol!)

I do have my dads visit to look forward to, it has been nearly 2 years since I last saw him. But I decided now would be a good time for DH to redecorate the kitchen... not the best decision ever, as I am now stressing that he won't have finished by Tuesday :o. Me and my bright ideas.

I have till next week to finish and frame "On the beach" so I better manage some stitchy time this weekend.

Hope you all have a lovely stitchy evening

Thanks augustsmummy. Doesn't sound like you've had a good time at all with docs. Hope the tiredness eases for you and your dad has a great visit.

I finally took a picture of my lack of progress on African Sunset. Some of the orange thread I unpicked has left fluff all over the aida. I checked back at my camera pics and apart from about 20 extra stitches it is the same as it was in October :o So I must stitch faster, make less mistakes and just get on with it!!

I have realised why I struggle so much with it though, it's because there are no blocks of colour at all. I just find it hard, and it's made me realise how easy the bothy threads cut thrus were. I might go back and do another one of those so I can feel like I'm making fast progress :D

Well motivated myself to do some of the alice in wonderland, must put a piccie of that up aswell at the weekend. I really need a new daylight lamp DS1 broke mine and it really affects how much stitching I can do in the evenings.

23rdspiral I came across the quote a few years ago and it really seemed to sum up life for me, especially as I was still struggling with my debts then.

Dorastar have you stitched for love quilts uk before? That is something I really wanted to do this year, Im thinking I will start with an any child square and go from there. Good luck with the toy story search.

Perfectparadox I love the piccie of Miss Dita, she is amazing, I saw her perfoem a few years back and she was breathtaking.

I really want to do a round robin this year, does anyone have any ideas how i can go about getting involved in one?

(((((((((((hugs)))))))))))) to everyone who needs them.

    Happy stitching xx
