Has anyone ever bought from the Enchanted Needle site?
They've got a whole set of DMC threads, prewound onto numbered bobbins for £179. With additional costs for storage boxes and postage it comes to £204. That's about 44p each....
I have been considering getting a whole set of threads for some time and this is much cheaper than the set bought from Sew and Sew - theirs works out at the standard 68p each - and that's without boxes, postage and the million years it would take me to wind 460+ bobbins!
Opinions/views please? Ta!0 -

I haven't bought from this site but I have bought from this one which has all 447 colours on bobbins in a presentation box for £147 including postage which works out to just under 33p each. You would have to factor in plastic boxes if you preferred them but it would still work out cheaper. It's quite a while since I bought from them but they have been going for years and used to be at a lot of the stitching shows.0 -

Fantastic - thank you flowerofscotland. I shall add them to the list of possibles (quite near the top!).
I love this site :T0 -

The quilt is a sampler quilt with 12 different blocks which was designed by Pam and Nicky Lintott of The Quilt Room. It uses a jelly roll plus some additional fabric for the sashings and binding. The patterns were on the Quilt Room website once a month and then used for a book I have saved my copies of each of the 12 month blocks if you would like aFunnily enough I have just bought another jelly roll (Moda's Blueberry Crumbcake) to do another version as I really enjoyed making the first one. I intend to do one block a month like I did with the first one so it's a 12 month project but as it's for me it doesn't matter
Just realised you may not have meant the quilt - were you asking about the cross stitch quilt which I made into a cushion? If so it is a design by a US designer called Paula Vaughan - I've done a few of her designsStill haven't made anything from it yet...did you get the ruler they suggest getting?
Thanks for the link about the DMC threads...a good idea,, but have loads of DMC threads already, so would have quite a lot of repeats.
Off to finish my crazy patch cushion cover...just need to square it up, sew it to the back then add some binding....not much then!!
One day I will get some cross-stitching done!

Woo hoo, finished Dear Santa
Needs washing and pressing and probably won't do that until I get it framed.
Yay, on to the next project!
Mags_cat - those complete sets seem like a good deal, especially if they are already on bobbins! I don't use them myself, prefer to keep them in skeins, but if I did I'd be very tempted! I've not used either site though although I have heard of the Enchanted Needle.
Off to work on Mum's birthday card and her blackwork cats. After that I might do Joan Elliots unicorn. I had a closer look at the design and agree with whoever mentioned the backstitch! I think I'm going to have to alter it and smooth out the lines. I don't understand why there are smooth lines in the mane but not the outline of the unicorn's body! I'm also still looking for my long lost pegasus design, it's got to be at my parent's house somewhere!
Oh and flowerofscotland, package receivedsorry I didn't let you know sooner!

flowerofscotland. - thank you for the info! I actually meant the cross stitch... But have now read back to page 93, when I last posted, and have seen the link to your quilt on pg 96. It's Beautiful! I'd love to do a sampler quilt, I have been collecting Civil War Repo fabrics for a year now to make a sampler.. I'd really appreciate it
. I have the 1st Jelly Roll book they did - I've only adapted a table runner from the Friendship Braid Quilt so far, but I've only had it a few weeks.
In stitching news, my breast cancer hearts kit got me all confused with the confetti stitching so has become a UFO :0( so my stitchy bug went away.
But my stitchy bug has been awakened since returning here, and am now progressing well with a crafty fox cover kit.
