This is a nice website with a lot of different quick stitch ideas.

I believe this is allowed if not I apologise and if someone tells me I will take the link down

Thanks for that - there is a cute 'Think outside the box' design which is going on my list :)

Mrs M - I'm so sorry to hear that :( I've never tried a white pen before, will test my new one before I do my ballerina!

HP-sauce Those fish are beautiful such a wonderful colourful design.
Louise I'm sorry to hear the show wasn't exactly what you had hoped for but at least you managed to get some bits even if they weren't x-stitch. I have never been to a show before and I do worry about how much I would spend if I did actually go.
FoS :T Congrats on finishing the UFO, its always so satisfying.
MRS-M :( So sorry about pengate.............though it did occur to me that if it was a design of the Titanic it was slightly ironic;) I hope you find a way to salvage it.

I haven't really done much stitching today but I did manage to have a sneak look at some websites...........very dangerous:D. During my search I found the birth sampler that I want to stitch for my niece. It is the Gorguss runaway sampler. I adore the gorguss girl design but nearly all the stuff I have is for my card making...........tons of decoupage and stamps. I did buy one gorguss stitch design the other month but haven't started it yet but the runaway piece is just perfect. Now I have to decide where to buy it from. I saw it on the Bothy website but then found it on e*ay cheaper. The problem is that I haven't brought anything from e*ay in years and I'm a bit nervous about doing so in case it all gets muddled.

    have a fab evening all:)

The eagle eyed among you will notice a bit of a change in my signature....

After counting all the finished pieces in storage the other week, I got to wondering how many pieces I had actually completed in total (as you do):o

So, including the 91 in storage, and as many gifted pieces as I can remember (I have a photo album with pics of completed pieces going back 10 years) I have worked out that the Chained Fairy was my 170th completed piece of stitching. It is possibly more, but I don't have any record of stuff I stitched from age 17-20 so this is as close as I can get.

Last push tonight to get Candlelight completed - she is nearly there :j

  • I have found that sometimes it is cheaper to buy aida and threads from the usa. I know if the pound is good against the dollar then I have ordered a bit from some usa shops and it works out cheaper than buying it from eg sew and so, I have also got metallic threads and kits and it may work oout cheaper then ebay.
It might help some people out.

    Hey lovely ladies,

Just checking in and catching up with the thread, thanks for posting all your great photos as always!

Louise - 170!!!:eek::eek: wow thats amazing! I've heard good things about The Silver Needle but I haven't actually used them myself and I don't know how their prices compare.

Sorry to hear about your pen going wrong Mrs-M, I can only suggest what tellmeitsfriday has suggested already.

    Chicky - Troutbeck looks wonderful!

I have had a lovely and somewhat busy week off and of course have not been able to manage as much stitching as I'd like but never mind!

I am still in the middle of Fizzy Moon for MILs mothers day card. Someone posted a few pages back they found it hard going and I agree! I've had to dig out a no 28 needle in order to make any progress!!! I plan to take it to work and do some stitching during lunch, hopefully a week's worth of lunchtimes will be enough!

    Urgh

I completed Candlelight at 11.30pm. As I was putting in the final letters of the initals I heard noises from upstairs - DS1 had thrown up all over his bedroom floor _pale_ If there's one thing in life I can't stand it's vomit, so hubby bravely went to clean it up while I looked after DS1.

A few minutes later I looked at DS2, he was a bit white so I got a bowl and just as I was handing it over and saying 'take this just in case' he threw up as well (spectacularly caught in the bowl by me I must admit) :rotfl:

So that is three schools gettng phone calls in the morning (DD was sick again at 2am the previous night) and I'm off to sit awake for a while and see if any of them are ill again. ah the joys of parenthood!!

I'm going to make a start on the cap badge while I stay up. Reallly not looking forward to potentially catching this bug myself!!!
