Mum2one, the time will flash by for the trip and its going to be fabulous xx

Susan, saw your bit at the bottom about the diet. Thats a shame you put some back on but good you are back on it again. I have lost nearly 3 stones now on mine. It was funny the other day, I had bought a pair of 18 jeans off Ebay, they were the inspire range which I normally buy but a size smaller as my other ones were falling down. They fitted like a glove and made me feel really slim so I bought another pair of 18 new look jeans. Was waiting ages for them to come, then they turned up and Oh opened the packet and said they look really tiny, like they would fit YD. I decided to have a go at trying them on, and what a laugh! This pair couldn't have been in the inspire range, they were skinny legs which just about went over my tree trunks, pulled them up and the top bit only just came over the tops of my legs, the "waistband" was more like "bumband" lol. Couldnt do up the button, the zip was about an inch long haha. Still, OH had a good laugh seeing me try them on and had to help me get them back off again as they were so tight on my legs I couldn't get them off. I will try them again in a months time and see if there is any change but think they are going to be too low down for me to wear properly, I would be afraid they were falling down lol.

    Xmas Saver!
Apologies Santas Challenge day late - got a brain like a sieve....

    Essentials
Nows the time to start/finishing wrapping presents, check if you have enough sellotape, tags, and prepare a little box of sellotape, scissors, gift atags, scissors and hid them from everyone else in the house!! so when you wrap you know where everything is.

    online Ordering
if your ordering anything online check the delievery est dates, and order with plenty of spare time - if your ordering a few things my tip is do a spreadsheet - list the item and due date and who from then you can tick it off when coming

    Craft Fayres / Christmas Events
For those clever crafters like Susan and Rufus this is your time to shine and for the rest of us its time to see if there are any bargains there.

    Food
With just 4 weeks left to Xmas, nows the time to see what extras you need and see if you can stock anything up, and do the list for xmas week so that way you can share the work load.

    Share the workload
I know we are super women but even superwoman needed a day off, see if you can share the workload, plan a rota if you have to

    Spare Present
Double check to see if you have a spare present, something that can be used ourselves or can be put towards bday presents next yr.

    Vouchers
If youve been saving vouchers check the expiry date and that u know where they are!!!

    Where am I???
Double check the arrangements so you know whether your cooking for 2 people or 20!!

Petrol, Batteries, Toilet Rolls, headache tablets etc
Fill the car up, check for spare batteries, and the first aid kit, and check prescriptions - my betting is weekend before xmas everyone will panic

    Miss Hoodies Corner
It wouldn't be a challenge without a cleaning job - Miss Hoodie being gentle this time, and just said make sure all your christmas goodies are together and you tidy up as you move things;)

    Fusspot corner...
    RUBBISH
My new little corner the fusspot / mother hen corner, I know its a horrible thing to have to think of but becareful of disposing of rubbish over xmas - eg you have a new TV - leave the cardboard outside while your waiting for bin collection, - this then says to a potential thief NEW TV.... so if you can store any rubbish safe to the day.

    THE CAR
I know were sensible but yesterday when I was at a local retail park, a car near where I parked had its side window smashed in.... my guess is the person been shopping chucked the stuff on the back seat and off to the next shop.
Handbags - I'm as guilty as my car central locking, dads isn't so in his I chuck the handbag on front seat, Miss Hoodie was talking yesterday and was shocked about how in Dom Rep your told not to open windows on the mini bus as people who stand at traffic lights - reach arms in and try to grab stuff, - it could happen as easily in a traffic jam.

Hopefully theres not too much there, as always treat it like a pick and mix xx
xx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx

    Brilliant challenge Mum 2 one

    Essentials
Nows the time to start/finishing wrapping presents, check if you have enough sellotape, tags, and prepare a little box of sellotape, scissors, gift atags, scissors and hid them from everyone else in the house!! so when you wrap you know where everything is.
I started wrapping up bits in the week but run out of tags. I had some sticky labels on a roll which we use every year, but cant find them in the shops this year so will probs have to buy something different for the rest of them. Got plenty of wrapping paper so dont think I will need any of that. Just need space to store them all once wrapped so they dont get torn.

    online Ordering
if your ordering anything online check the delievery est dates, and order with plenty of spare time - if your ordering a few things my tip is do a spreadsheet - list the item and due date and who from then you can tick it off when coming
I thought I had done nearly all my ordering but went to wrap up the kids mugs the other day from Vistaprint and found one of them was chipped so had to order another one. Just did it on the long post thingy as it would have taken the price up way too high and keeping fingers crossed it comes in time. Had email yesterday to say its been dispatched to glad I didnt pay for special delivery or nothing.

    Craft Fayres / Christmas Events
For those clever crafters like Susan and Rufus this is your time to shine and for the rest of us its time to see if there are any bargains there.
My big one is this weekend coming, really looking forward to it, bought some battery powered Christmas lights to decorate the stall and OH is fishing out some Santa hats from the loft to wear.

    Food
With just 4 weeks left to Xmas, nows the time to see what extras you need and see if you can stock anything up, and do the list for xmas week so that way you can share the work load.
Not really bothered about this as its just going to be me on my own over Christmas day, going out boxing day and day after. We are having a pre Christmas meal on the 15th with OH's parents, and having our own special day New Years day instead as OH working over the holiday. He is sorting out the shopping for both so leaving it up to him.

    Share the workload
I know we are super women but even superwoman needed a day off, see if you can share the workload, plan a rota if you have to
No probs with this as OH does more than his fair share.

    Spare Present
Double check to see if you have a spare present, something that can be used ourselves or can be put towards bday presents next yr.
I have a box of small extra presents just in case.

    Vouchers
If youve been saving vouchers check the expiry date and that u know where they are!!!
    No vouchers

    Where am I???
Double check the arrangements so you know whether your cooking for 2 people or 20!!
    Sorted

Petrol, Batteries, Toilet Rolls, headache tablets etc
Fill the car up, check for spare batteries, and the first aid kit, and check prescriptions - my betting is weekend before xmas everyone will panic
Need to do this today, my stupid doctors will only let me get 1 months at a time at the moment which is stupid. Used to let me have three months worth but lately just the one so will have to order again before Christmas.

    Miss Hoodies Corner
It wouldn't be a challenge without a cleaning job - Miss Hoodie being gentle this time, and just said make sure all your christmas goodies are together and you tidy up as you move things;)
    Good advice Miss Hoddie xx

    Fusspot corner...
    RUBBISH
My new little corner the fusspot / mother hen corner, I know its a horrible thing to have to think of but becareful of disposing of rubbish over xmas - eg you have a new TV - leave the cardboard outside while your waiting for bin collection, - this then says to a potential thief NEW TV.... so if you can store any rubbish safe to the day.
Also good advice. Dont think we will be getting anything major this year, had it all last year.

    THE CAR
I know were sensible but yesterday when I was at a local retail park, a car near where I parked had its side window smashed in.... my guess is the person been shopping chucked the stuff on the back seat and off to the next shop.

Doubt I will be out much in the car between then and now as have most of my shopping done already.

OMG - are you a mind reader?? I said this to OH the other day as everything has vanished from last year! SO going to do this.

    online Ordering
if your ordering anything online check the delievery est dates, and order with plenty of spare time - if your ordering a few things my tip is do a spreadsheet - list the item and due date and who from then you can tick it off when coming

    All ordering done! :D

    Food
With just 4 weeks left to Xmas, nows the time to see what extras you need and see if you can stock anything up, and do the list for xmas week so that way you can share the work load.

Going to have this discussion this week - we're going to get some treats in, like the boxes of biscuits etc but instead of spending over the odds on those, we're going to make sure we pick up a few packs of our normal fave biscuits instead. Will do the same with cheeses, crisps, nibbles and chocolates! Get more for our money that way.

    Spare Present
Double check to see if you have a spare present, something that can be used ourselves or can be put towards bday presents next yr.

Need to sort through pressies, but I'm pretty sure I have something spare.

    Where am I???

Etched in to my BRAIN. lol

Everything is all wrapped except for the banjo for my DH. Any ideas on how to wrap such a thing creatively much appreciated :) Last year's gift I completely wrapped the box in silver duct tape and made a red electrical tape bow before hiding it and sending him on a treasure hunt around the house.

Also sensible, thank you. We're not having anything terribly expensive but I think most of the cardboard will end up going into our lovely outdoor fireplace. I would really like to have that burning in the evening if Boxing Day turns into a fuller day sort of thing. Hot chocolate and marshmallows around the fire.

Thank you mum2one for our challenges all through the year. You're like Mrs Christmas :)

Most presents are wrapped. Everything wrapped is listed in my notebook with a W next to it. That way, anything unwrapped is easy for me to spot. I have plenty of gift tags, even after giving a stash to my daughter and her boyfruiend for their wrapping. My sellotape dispenser is empty, but only because I took it to Brownies tonight to teach the girls how to wrap presents (everyone has donated a present, which they learned to wrap tonight, for us to give to Women's Aid). I have another four rolls of sellotape; I just need to put a new roll on the dispenser.
All wrapped items are bagged and put into loft - my 12 year old has been very helpful this year, saving me the job of carrying everything up the ladders :)

    online Ordering
if your ordering anything online check the delievery est dates, and order with plenty of spare time - if your ordering a few things my tip is do a spreadsheet - list the item and due date and who from then you can tick it off when coming

I still have to order one book for my nephew. Thank you for the reminder :)

    Craft Fayres / Christmas Events
For those clever crafters like Susan and Rufus this is your time to shine and for the rest of us its time to see if there are any bargains there.

I might visit the Christmas market with craft tent that our town is having, but as I have bought almost everything, it might just be a way to make me part with more cash, spending on things I don't really need.

    Food
With just 4 weeks left to Xmas, nows the time to see what extras you need and see if you can stock anything up, and do the list for xmas week so that way you can share the work load.

I don't buy extra food for Christmas, as we eat at relatives' homes. I just get extra cooked meats and cheeses for an easy Christmas tea, and I'll pick these up early on Christmas Eve when I go to get my mum's veggies.

    Share the workload
I know we are super women but even superwoman needed a day off, see if you can share the workload, plan a rota if you have to

My 14 year old son, who has Down's Syndrome, has already helped me to wrap (nagged might be a more accurate description :rotfl:). All three kids have to help with my mammoth clear out, and bedrooms are almost sorted.

    Spare Present
Double check to see if you have a spare present, something that can be used ourselves or can be put towards bday presents next yr.

A few spares already in my cupboard. I always buy too much, so having extras has never been a problem :)

    Vouchers
If youve been saving vouchers check the expiry date and that u know where they are!!!

    No vouchers.

    Where am I???
Double check the arrangements so you know whether your cooking for 2 people or 20!!

Christmas day is planned with military precision, as the kids see their dad as well as spending time with me. It is all arranged, but my ex is notorious for being late, then blaming me. He sees the kids at his parents' house. I'm thinking about dropping the kids off this year, instead of him collecting them. It means I will have to do both journeys as when I pick them up, we go to my sister's for Christmas dinner. Even though it means more driving for me, I can drop them off early enough for me to take my mum to church, which she would love. In laws always enjoy extra time with the kids as well, especially at Christmas. So although currently planned, things may change slightly.

Petrol, Batteries, Toilet Rolls, headache tablets etc
Fill the car up, check for spare batteries, and the first aid kit, and check prescriptions - my betting is weekend before xmas everyone will panic

I've got the batteries, loo rolls and first aid kit. Prescriptions - the chemist ring every month to renew my son's meds, and I have enough to see us through a few days if they are ever late. Petrol will be bought a couple of days early, but our local garage is open Chrismas Day anyway.

    Miss Hoodies Corner
It wouldn't be a challenge without a cleaning job - Miss Hoodie being gentle this time, and just said make sure all your christmas goodies are together and you tidy up as you move things;)

In the middle of a mammoth clear out - not so gentle for us :o

Rubbish stored in locked garage, but we tear up any cardboard boxes anyway, as you can fit more into the bin that way. I make it into a game with the kids.

    THE CAR
I know were sensible but yesterday when I was at a local retail park, a car near where I parked had its side window smashed in.... my guess is the person been shopping chucked the stuff on the back seat and off to the next shop.

I drive a Nissan Note, which has a handy storage section underneath the seat. I can out my handbag there and nobody can see it. I also lock my car door at all times when driving. I'm a bit anal when it comes to personal safety :o

Hopefully theres not too much there, as always treat it like a pick and mix xx

Thanks for the reminder on these. I think I'm pretty much sorted, but I still have to wrap the Brownies and Rainbows presents. I might do that tomorrow and then it's done. It won't take long - easy shape to wrap this year :D.

    Xmas Saver!
Your all so wonderful, thank you. We have a lovely little personal thread here.

We have some good news - found the box of 400 missing xmas cards - but they weren't in a cardboard box they were stored in a plastic container!! We started sorting the loft out, done about 1/4 of it today....

We've got 50 rolls of wrapping paper, 800 cards, gift tags coming of mid air, - need sellotape!!

With the 400 cards, - sorted them all out as they were mixed batch, and theres always some that you never like, so i've put them into batches, and taking them to xmas fayre at school
    Plan is
    Standard cards - 20 for 50p
Posh square angel cards - 10 for 50p
    big ones half size of a A4 sheet - 4 for 50p
Disney princess wrapping paper - 50p roll (Miss Hoodie grown out of disney princesses), - so glad she didn't remember the paper as we'd used it over couple yrs for Santas prezzies!!

    By end of week-
    Got OU assisgnment
    PTA meeting
meeting at doctors - my mum voluntered me to go on their "friends of the doctors surgery group"
Plan layout 2 rooms for PTA
    Write rest of cards
Sort out remaining into what we want - sell rest (hopefully!!)

    xx
xx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx

No big thingies this yr, Miss hoodies having a tablet from mum and dad (and me:)), Miss hoodies main - Kindle - any boxes store in the shed to collection day)

I never leave shopping on back seat, if I drive dads, only have to have drivers side open, - slowly getting habit of putting handbag in the well.

Hopefully theres not too much there, as always treat it like a pick and mix xx

Not doing to bad according to the checklist!!

After doing 1/4 of loft - rubbish we got 2 bin bags full, chucked a wack of old decorations out, 1 bag for charity, and found the missing xmas cards, and saved ourselves £20 - did a list of the posh/personal cards for family and found a wack in the loft..:T

Just to get a noce bottle of wine for when wrap the presents.......
xx rip dad... we had our ups and downs but we’re always be family xx

I wrote my special cards out yesterday, all except one which I need to buy as got the wrong one lol. Havent started on the others yet, they are still in the loft at the moment.

Most of the presents are wrapped up, still need some gift bags for some of them and need to wrap OH's presents but will do that when he isn't around. Still need some tags as a lot of them have just got post it notes stuck on them at the moment. Might be able to get up town today if the rain isn't too bad.
