URGENT HELP NEEDED: Credit Card pin & chip fraud

Is your card about to run out and may someone have intercepted your new card and PIN? The fact that the stores are local is interesting.illegitimi non carborundum0

In my experience, and i'm not accusing anyone here, counterfeit fraud never happens within 2 miles of the genuine cardholder. Neither does it involve retail transactions made using a PIN. I have seen ATM fraud with counterfeit cards but thats because the magnetic strip is copied and replicated on a counterfeit card, i have never seen ATM fraud where the chip has been read.
Is the OP absoutely certain that their card has not been stolen or used and replaced ? Has anyone else been able to access the card and PIN ? If the OP still has their card then it's possible that someone has taken the card, used it and put it back.
When the banks fraud department is open again, the OP will be able to find out more information about exactly what has happened as they will be able to tell how the transactions were made, if the mag stripe has been read or whether the transactions were chip read.
The OP is lucky that a credit card was used as the bank won't hold them liable for the fraud, but they might not rush to put the refund on the card !0 -
The fraud department will also be able to tell if it was the card/chip thats in your possession, or another one thats linked to your account.illegitimi non carborundum0

And tell the local police station not to be so bl**dy lazy and that you are reporting a crime. It's not up to the desk officer to decide a crime is 'not important enough'. If you report a crime, they have to act on it. No ifs, no buts! You can report the theft of a packet of fags if you want, and they are required to act on it."There are not enough superlatives in the English language to describe a 'Princess Coronation' locomotive in full cry. We shall never see their like again". O S Nock0

The fraud has been perpetuated against the card lender not OP so it is up to the card lender to report it to police.0

the reason all the transactions happened within 2 miles of my residence is because both city center and high street are 2 miles from my flat. All the major stores are on high street and obviously there are lot of atms there.
My card is with me right now and was with me when the fraudulent transactions took place. Other than me nobody else access the card.
I really don’t know how someone was able to use my card, when the card was with me the whole time!!!.
Thank you all for your posts. I will talk to the CC company and let you know what happens.0 -
In my opinion it must be an inside job then - a family member or close friend.
Was it kept within eyesight at all times in a wallet or bag? Some people can be very devious.
It does not change the fact that you are the victim in this unless you wrote the Pin number down somewhere or told it to someone.0 -

You misunderstood what i meant. I meant that when fraud occurs close to a cardholders address it usually means that the card and PIN have been used together without the cardholders knowledge and that it's not going to be a counterfeit card. It sometimes happens when the card and PIN have both been lost or stolen, but never with counterfeit cards.
When fraudsters clone cards, the fraud usually takes place many miles away from the cardholders address, sometimes in different countries. It would be a huge coincidence if a fraudster cloned your card and used it 2 miles from your home. The card issuer will also think along these lines and may suspect "an inside job" also.0 -
Ask the fraud team to request and retain all CCTV evidence from all the shops and ATM's where the withdrawls took place.0
