    Hi D,

Good to hear you sounding more positive.....you've done so well....paying off over 3k since November..how fab is that! Wish I had... and great news on the balance transfer is HSBC just 858 now then?

i think it must be the time of year for splurges...we've had a big spend month and next month is an expensive one too...weddings and their associated hen weekends! Glad Jan/Feb/March were quiet as we managed to pay a fair bit off.

If you need motivation you should read your diary from the begining..you've come a long way! Page 23 now!!!!

It also helps to have something to look forward to..like a little break/holiday..we're off to France in the summer, camping so it should be nice and cheap, next year I want to drive Route 66 so need a cheap hol this year to save for that, but I just have to have something to look forward to or I get a bit depressed with all this cutting down and saving when i just want to go out and buy a new eye cream and lots of lovely new jars of nice things...Have you got anything planned for the summer?

    I'll stop rambling now...

Hope you're enjoying all this lovely sunshine!

Not bad going for an unlucky day (fri 13th)!!

How have you managed to stay in budget even though you're paying so much for your treatments??? not bad hey. i'm SOOO over budget this month and I don't get paid till the very end of the month.

Going to France for just over 2 weeks, camping!! OH wants to see the Normandy beaches then we're going to Paris for a while...not camping there though...YAY! Bit worried about the heat now though, well if this weather continues, trouble with camping is that you can't escape to your air conditioned room, those tents get so hot.

Where abouts in Italy are you going to? I spent some of my misspent youth on Lago Maggiore...Love it...love the yummy food...mmmm and the scenery of course!

Hope you're feeling the benefit of your treatments

Just a few numbers to celebrate my success (just for me - because I feel down)

In December 2006 I paid £73 monthly in interest. In April 2007, this reduced to £19 a month.
I have reduced my debt by 50% since my lightbulb moment.
My monthly rent has not increased a penny since September 2005.
Today I have access to credit amounting to £4750 (cards, overdraft). I am using £2280 of it. :)
Biggest success: My hsbc balance was £1948 in February 2007. Today its £535.
Best card: M&S with twice BTs at 2.9% no fee and 9.9% on purchases - employee discount!!
DFD according to snowball: November 2007
DFD according to me: September 2007 (by October Payday on the tenth of October 2007)
Salary in November 2006: NET £1315 per month. Salary now: NET £1492 per month.
Money spent on food November 2006: £416.98
Money spent on food March 2007: £195.42
Money saved - swithing, cancelling, shuffling, redeeming etc - £175.50

    Hi Kit

Yes thanks for asking - today is actually the first day I started to feel the benefits of the treatment so I am very happy and looking forward to the rest of them. Next one I can only have mid may so this will do good to my bank account.

I managed to stay within the budget by spending very little money on food. It also helps that I dotn need to buy books or clothes. I also was away for 5 days when my dad paid for everything. and finally, to be honest, I have no idea how I am still within it but I am - I have another £130 left until the 26th of the month and theres only the orange bill that needs paying from this (£60ish). Also I use up the teaching money too. I reallty have no diea how but I am not complaining...

Good luck with your budget - are you sure you allow yourself enough??

Yay for camping! dont worry about weather, you can still sneak into a posh hotel and refresh yourself in the loo :) and as for nights, they shouldnt be that bad...?

I am going tio Tuscany - is it anywhere near to where you were raised?? Pisa, beach, florence...
