Hmm not sure that would work en-masse - it's only die-hard bargain hunters getting worked up about a potential sale. Can'tr see anyone parting with money @ 50% when the aisles are dead and there is definitely no rush on.

I do think you're probably right in that that's what's behind the smoke and mirrors

Anyone who goes into a store, please actually ask if the sale is on or get an item price-checked. It's happened before that the signs just weren't up, and sometimes the staff didn't even know the items would ring up at cheaper prices!

I did see someone mention earlier in the thread that the sales assistant didn;t know it was a sale on until something rang through @ 75% off!!

I phoned boots in cheshunt and boots liverpool st and both confirmed it's definitely not today

just called the store that I saw the signage in - and they confirmed 75% is on in their store at least!
