I managed to pick up a couple of items at Swindon city centre this morning.
Assistants had no idea about the sale - a few came and picked up a few items themselves.
There is very little left now. Has anypne been to Swindon Greenbridge?0 -

i wont be bothering either, i went last year and there wasnt much worth getting!0 -
I thought I'd share my experience this morning in Central London.
There are two stores near me; one next to the tube station I get off at and one about 5 minutes walk away. Both stores open at 8am.
On arrival at the store next to the tube station, the shutters were still down (at 8am). Despite thinking I could see someone taking down the 50% off signs, I thought I'd head to the other store which isn't in such a prime location. (And the non-prime location store had plenty of sale stock yesterday when I popped in. Sadly I forgot to check sale stock in the "prime" branch).
So off I went to the other store. On arrival I was disappointed to see the 50% off signs still up, so I convinced myself that the 75% off sale was yet to start. (I hadn't by then seen the recent post here confirming that it starts today). So I went to work.
However, on arrival at work, I checked these forums and on seeing that it does indeed start today, I hurried back to the store.
So I got to the store and the 50% off signs were still up. I decided to ask a member of staffif the 75% off sale had yet started and she didn't know. I suggested scanning an item and she asked if the sale had started online. I said althought the Boots website had sold all its stock, they said the 75% off sale continues in store. She went ahead and scanned an item and on discovering that it DID take 75% off, she said "oh, yes you're right". And then went on to ask "so why don't they tell us?", and proceeded to share the news with her
colleagues.
Nobody knew!
The result for me therefore was that staff hadn't nabbed the best bargains, no other customers were interested in the items as they weren't aware of the extra discount, and there wasn't even a queue outside!
I picked up £71 value of items today (sale items plus a £7.50 No 7 facewash) and after using a £5 No 7 voucher, my Boots card and a double points voucher, the net actual cost to me was £16.93. Bargain! (I probably should have picked up a few extras for presents for 2012, but I'm not in charge of presents in my house. Maybe next year!)
Possible best purchase: Soap and Glory hadwash and moisturiser £2.50. There were LOADS of those left.
So if you're in London's West End now and want to pick up some bargains, then I suggest you head to Carnaby Street. I didn't make it to the other store: Piccadilly Circus.0 -
