When you start up, you probably get a reminder to create your Recovery Discs. You just follow the instructions there.
To disable start up items, you open CCleaner as before. Go to Tools > StartUp and then highlight the ones that you wish to Disable and then click the Disable button on the right. To re-enable, you highlight and click the Enable button. It's that easy. As you can see, your actions are reversible so don't be afraid to experiment. But leave the Recovery Disc reminder enabled until you create your Recovery Discs.
Yes, with Skype and Messenger you just start them when you are ready to use them.

Ok thanks for that. My laptop seems a bit better just by getting rid of those unwanted things unless its wishful thinking lol. I ll get some dvd r s when im next in town and try and do the backup things although ive never been asked to do them on any other pc/laptop before. Re your travelling i guess you are a young guy. I wish my two sons were as knowledgeable as you on pc s tho they do help me if they can. My daughter knows quite a bit but she not a very good teacher lol. If we dont " speak " before you set off have a good time.0

now you've got this far, run ccleaner's cleaner and registry cleaner, delete all they find. It'll help a bit by getting rid of hangovers from what you've uninstalled, and make it easier to see the wood for the trees......Gettin' There, Wherever There is......
I have a dodgy "i" key, so ignore spelling errors due to "i" issues, ...I blame Apple0 -

The Recovery DVDs are for when your hard drive fails and you need to reinstall Windows and Drivers. So they are a must.0 -

Click here and read from 'Getting Started' and end with 'Once the first disc (DVD1) is burnt, you will be ask to insert the second one.'
When you've finished you can begin disabling your StartUp items and then rebooting.0
