    Hey Everyone,

Well I'm 1 lb down today :) Not too bad considering I only started on the 2nd. Hoping to lose 2-3 lb next week.

I've also got £100 to transfer to my account, so will add that to my siggy when I do it later.

I found this challenge by lurking on MrB's thread, and I'm going to give it a try I reckon :D Hope it's ok if I put my end date as 4th May?

I've got 1.5 stone to lose and don't think I'll manage more than £1000 saved but you never know ...

I'm totally rubbish at doing exercise before or after work, so have hatched a plan which involves going for a walk at lunchtimes - I work in a town centre so walking would mean no time for spending money either, bonus!

Miggy - I have the Halifax reward account, and the charge is fixed at £1 a day on mine for authorised overdrafts. Never used it though.

Hmmm, no treadmill workout today and no inclination to do it either :(. I'll try to force myself before dinner. I can't let this be the start of the slippery slope so soon into the challenge. The diet itself is still going well though :)

On the £2k front I've just cancelled my roadside assistance membership. I've paid it for 5 years and never called them out. They wanted a massive £169.78 to renew. I refused both the offers they gave me today (the lowest being £59 for the same cover!!!). I'm going to add this saving to my total. I'm happy to cancel as I've already found combined car insurance and roadside cover for less than the price of my current car insurance. I just hope my car doesn't break down in the next 8 weeks!!

Just been looking at that myself, no good for me as my main account but wondering whether to open to transfer in and out every month!

Bit off-thread but related to the above - does anyone know whether Santander are rubbish with overdrafts? I could get £200 for switching but it will take me a few months get out of the overdraft so not sure if it would be a good move or not!

Not spent owt today yet, so no chance to save! Bad on the diet front also - oh heck!

I opened an account with them as they offered £100 reward and interest free overdraft for a year. They match your current overdraft, mine was £1500.

However there customer servise leaves a lot to be desired. I had to visit the branch 3 times and make many phone calls in the first month of opening account. They were a nightmare. To date my OH has still not recieved his Debit card and we just gave up on it in the end.

In March I will transfer everything back to my old account of 20 years, who I have never had any problem with. However I did make £100 profit from Santander and have made good use of the interest free overdraft but they are hard work. I never previously appreciated how efficient my old Bank was.

I weighed myself today and have put on 2lbs over Christmas meaning I am now 10st 5lb. Bizarrely though I have lost half an inch from my waist. Anyway no need to worry as I'm back on track now and those 2lbs should drop off again by the next weigh in a couple of weeks time.

And I'm walking my dog for an hour a day in the week and am out for a run again tomorrow so the exercise is going well

:wave:fedupandskint - not seen you for ages! Hope all is well

OK if you don't mind not being able to see current balance, not being able to do instant transfers (to save yourself from charges) and your card being refused without them being able to explain why! I am maintaining a pound balance in a savings account for the forseeable future just to annoy them. CS is truely apalling - and I am generally reasonable, calm, in credit and pay things on time.

I would pay £200 not to bank with them :o
