BMW E46 with N42 engine, Awful Car.
Everything that went wrong with it was a "common problem" and then costs a bomb to fix.
I have a few friends that own BMW's of various incarnations and they hate them as well.0 -
Rover 75 automatic with the 1.8 K series engine, had no idea of all the headgasket problems with the K series engine.0

I'm tempted to say the one I have now - but its not (I only think it is because I've spent so much on it this year on wear and tear items, belts, water pump, brakes, brake pipes, wheel bearings etc).
My worst was an N reg Ford Fiesta, I bought it out of necessity after my beloved rusty old Fiat Uno failed its MOT (the rust was holding the car together). That Fiesta was the bane of my life, power steering problems, cracked fuel tank, oh it was never out of the garage. It finally broke down completely over the Christmas holidays one year on the M6, and we scrapped it as soon as we got it towed home.
My best car for reliability and value for money was my N reg Rover 600, it was the cheapest car I've ever bought and it just went and went. The only things that ever needed replacing on it in the 4 years I had it were brakes and tyres (oh and a battery).0 -

I wouldn't wish one of these on my worst enemy - it's funny how bmw are so good at making 6's but the 4's (apart from the diesels) have been fairly awful in the past - slow, unreliable and make a horrible sound0 -
We bought two Morris Minors for a tenner it was about 1969,my OH managed to make one out of them,as you drove along you could see the road beneath.:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: We took it on the ferry to Ireland,at Holyhead the man at the Port asked "excuse me Sir do you think you will make it onto the boat?".
I actually cant remember what happened to that car,we did have another Morris Minor after that, fab motors.Sobriety delivers everything Alcohol promised.

2001 Seat Leon. VW build quality?! Pah! Things just fell off it when ever a gust of wind touched it. I once closed the boot, only for the rear light cluster to smash. The cambelt tensioner broken at 33 K miles, the engine would rev up and down on it's own. It was just an awful car. I had spent a fortune to buy it, but got rid of it after a year as it was so bad.
Ended up buying an old peugeot 406 and have had 5 years and 70,000 trouble free miles of motoring!
Everyone slags off French, but the two best cars I've ever owned have been a pug 405 and a pug 406! Reliable, comfy and brilliant!0 -
1981 Mk III Escort. Had wrong exhaust fitted, fuel tank leaked, engine was a mixture of rust and oil. The day before I trading it in (for a laugh), the hand brake came off in my hand. Worst £100 I ever spent!0
