Nokia or Samsung cant decide

The Nokia, without a doubt. No matter how much processing power a phone has, it will always be subject to its operating system.
For the average user, Windows Phone will be a far far far better OS than Android any day of the week. Android is for geeks, Windows Phone is for the masses. It is similar to an iPhone, but on steroids. It makes the iPhone look outdated, and Android just plain clunky and unusable.
The 800 is an absolutely wonderful phone (even if I am eagerly waiting for the release of the 710 instead, due to not liking capacitive buttons), an all-round performer. Windows Phone 7.5, and the Nokia 800 have recieved mass-applause by critics, even those formerly biased soley towards iPhones.
PS. I currently use Android/Windows Mobile lol - waiting to upgrade in February (well, change as o2 are poo nowadays).0 -
Having used both, I can honestly say to go for the Samsung. I really, really hate the browser on the Nokia. It's awkward to zoom in so the text either ends up being tiny and impossible to read or you have to scroll left to right to read anything. I love the phone but I'm mainly using my Android phone for browsing because you have a choice of browsers, whereas with the Nokia, you are stuck with the stock one.
I think the Samsung would better suit your needs for that reason.Have I helped? Feel free to click the 'Thanks' button. I like to feel useful (and smug).0 -
I have also used both and can honestly say that the Nokia is outstanding. I'd choose it over the Samsung for browsing without a doubt.0

My wife had the same decision to make this week.
After checking out both phones she decided on the S2. I really liked the Nokia but a friend has one and has the battery problem (although that apparently should be fixed with the next update) and that put her off.
The other thing to consider is the apps. Do you use any apps at present with your current phone? Are these available on either phones?
The S2 runs beautifully by the way.0 -
Hi, I currently have a phone from the dark ages nokia 6300! so dont use apps!,
Oh no after peoples help I still dont know the advice was 50/50, lol0 -
They are both great phones.
Whichever one you choose will be a huge step up from your current phone so I guess that in the end it just comes down to which one you prefer the look/feel of0 -
The Lumia 800's browser is fantastic to be honest, I was surprised.
The Samsung's browser, however, supports Flash, which may be a benefit over the Lumia for you.
Going by just your criteria, then I would say the Lumia, if there are other things you would take into consideration, then I would mention them, as it could swing the decision the other way. Gaming for instance... the SGSII has a more power CPU, more RAM and more games available.0 -
Read the reviews Techradar usually has in depth reviews as do many other sites .
Try before you buy play with them in the shops .
Techy Geeky Android can be if you want it to be but other wise its much the same as its across a broad range of phones as any other OS .
My choice would be SGS2 particular as it will step up a notch or two with next years firmware update .

No, and even then both phones have an eBay app that you can use rather than the website.0
