I love Shakespeare and best of all Stratford is only a short drive away :) I haven't been to the RSC since they revamped it so perhaps I ought to treat myself to some tickets? Not sure it's H's cup of tea mind LOl

hey ya BB, thanks for the suggestion. I think this month we will try every two to three days, really for a or b everytime we decided to TTC something happens and all the plans go out of the window.
I have been away for 6 weeks then came back and a week later had AF, then march was a pretty rubbish month ... April should be ours, or at least we will have more fun than months before ! I dont really want to start ovulation sticks or temping ? as i know i will become obsessed with it. We havent actually tried properly yet, always something gets in the way.

I never had the patience to do temping etc. I tried the OPK'S after our 2nd month of trying just to get an idea what's going on. Since you've just started out its wise not to get too stressed, relax and try and enjoy it ;)

Good evening everyone, I've been MIA and probably will be again soon. I'm not fab right now, I'm gross and completely overwhelmed by the amount of stuff I have to do.
Unfinished dissertation due in a month and 3 big assignments in 3 weeks. I will try to do as much as I can but I still have to work 3 days a week at my current job, spend a week with family over Easter and a day at my new job later in the month :(
Also stressing about moving as I can't decide where to move to.
I wish I had time to read a time management book :rotfl:

There was lots I wanted to reply to but have forgotten everything now. Have a killer headache so going to take a bath and go to bed and pretend today never happened.

Oh well back on the hamster wheel of life again after 7 working days off. Thank goodness there's too short work weeks now.

I too am drowning in assignments due in over the next 3 weeks. I don't think there's any way I'll get them all in and I might get an extension for one module and then get the other one in on time and try and tackle the shorter assignments first and the longer one while the extension is on.

Very hard to juggle life and full time work and studying for me atm.

Anyway, made myself go out for a run after work so at least some exercise is done to pick the training up again after a break of nearly 2 weeks. Also thinking about enquiring about a full marathon next year for TIFTFT (Try it for the first time!). Might go for it and ring tomorrow and see if I can secure a place.

Not much else going on apart from eating a rather nice eclair

Adelight & Sparkles ........ And breathe.......

My goodness - you are both seriously overloaded with work, projects etc. You have my permission to go easy on the fabbing:rotfl::rotfl:

There are only so many hours in the day. ;)

You are both well established with your routines now - a couple of weeks off isn't going to undo all your good work.

Try not to panic - just prioritorise what you have to do, the fabbing can take a back seat for now. Your studies are your top priority because they are an investment in your future. And of course you do have to fulfil your work commitments too.

All your hard work will pay off in the end.

Adelight - love the comment about wish you had time to read a time management book. Very funny but of course it's also probably very true at the moment. Put it on the "to do list". ;)

I have started learning Italian. Did it at school along with French. I also know a little Spanish so I'm really enjoying picking it all up again.

I came across a wonderful phrase the other day -

"Bel Far Niente" It means "The Beauty of Doing Nothing". The sheer bliss of being able to relax, do nothing and not feel guilty.

I must try and practise that one.

In fact Richard Templar - the guru I mentioned earlier today, advocates just that. Spend 10 minutes each day doing absolutely nothing - preferably in the fresh air.

He says you should sit out in the garden and just "be". Don't drink a cup of coffee because then it becomes a coffee break, don't read the paper or your mail or check your texts.

    Just do nothing.

Apparently it will energise and refresh you, clear your mind, and you will achieve far more in the long run than if you just keep going, driving yourself into the ground, getting more and more frazzled.

I've had a lazy day today - just pottering. The cake was successful - unusual for me - my baking tends to be a bit hit and miss:o.

This evening I indulged myself with some catch up TV. Feel much better now.

    G'night all x

That's great to hear LL. I'm going to try that tip about doing nothing. I could do with some energising.

Interesting chat about Shakespeare earlier. Like most, I read them at school and have seen a few stage plays. I remember once seeing a production of Taming of the Shrew and I got so wound up at the way Kate was being treated I took it out on DH on the way home. He became the fall guy for all the sexism I'd ever encountered. Poor love.

Another amusing story: A friend and I went to see a version of Hamlet when we were in Cork. The opening scene when the soldiers are patrolling the battlements - these two actors spoke with thick Irish accents, had shivery/scaredy voices for the atmosphere and were wrapped around in cloaks. We couldn't understand a word! Fortunately it got better and was quite a good night. And last year I saw Richard Wilson (aka Victor Meldrew) in Twelfth Night so all in all I'm quite a fan. I'm not sure whether watching on TV would appeal. I'll give it a try.

Am keeping up with make up and general fabbing. I'm definitely in a routine now. I've spent some of today doing some fabbing of my home. Last week I started a bit of spring cleaning and washed the loose covers from my sofas. Today I polished some of my wooden furniture with proper wax polish and washed some ornaments. I also did my car insurance on line and made quite a large saving by shopping around. I did think my renewal notice was ridiculous but very pleased with the final price.

I have some of these French storage tins, from this series
    thumb_3001.jpg?1330509116
which I've collected over the years, mainly in the kitchen (flour, cereals, stock cubes) but DD1 bought me two sewing tins for my birthday and today I tidied up all my threads and other bits and bobs. Tomorrow I'm going to start on the knitting stuff!

How are you doing the Italian LL? Do you have CDs?

Sending positive vibes for the assignments sparkles and adelight. I do think you're wise to keep up some exercise sparkles as a break and a bit of fresh air will really help. You know what they say about all work.

I'm envious of the dog walking too. I enjoy a walk when I can but I'm not very disciplined so don't get out regularly enough.

'night all or should that be Buona Notte!:)

Morning all *yawn* gods, this is early for me, but the boys are being picked up shortly, as it's the end of their stay.:(

Another good reason for dog-sitting - for me, at least. You feel a complete and utter twerp going round the park on your own when you need a mobility buggy to go for a "walk".:rotfl:

Confession time, I guess - I'm still having trouble getting into anything of a fabbing routine.

I've neither the time nor the energy in the mornings to muck about with creams and potions (busy getting Mr LW ready for work, making sure he has everything - lunchbox, fruit off the fruit bowl, mobile phones, case, laptop, shopping list if he's going to Morries at lunchtime for me, etc) then I sort of collapse in a heap on the sofa because that's all my energy drained.

Then in the evening, it depends what he wants to do; usually he wants to do PC games after his Wii Fit session (I do my Brain Training while he's doing that, at the same time as using my mini-walker machine), so we sit and do that, and I tend to forget "fabbing" stuff; plus, once we finish gaming, he wants to go to bed, and although he's never said anything as such, he seems - bemused, I think is the best way to put it, at the idea of me getting out pots of cream, so I end up feeling embarrassed, and putting them away again. I'm managing to do the Vaseline on the nails every night, but then, he's seen first hand (no pun intended) what my nails are like, as I keep borrowing his Swiss Army knife for the nail file it has on it.

I think the reason I'm writing this all down here is to try and get my head round it and sort out a way round, if possible.;)
If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)

    Morning all,

Well rather a manic weekend but have been having a catch-up on you all now :)

WW - yay on the weight loss, that's fantastic for a week :jglad the revision class went well, and bit of extra cash! What did you think of Hunger Games, I thought was watchable but some parts annoyed me a bit and didn't like the ending - although I suppose they were setting up for a sequel. I'm one who'll just go to the cinema on my own if I'm bored, I used to feel really self-conscious but tbh no one really cares and once you're in and it's dark they can't really see you anyway :)

Lizzie - don't know I've got the idea the kids were littlies then! What kind of things are they into? I was just getting into the cameras more at that age so was happy with more nature places - it was usually my mum who wanted to go to a shopping centre every weekend, though we did generally just window shop :) Glad you're up to date on the OU, enjoy your break!

Callisto - the travelling sounds very exciting! Am sure you could find a short-term let or even a room-share or something for when you come back.

LL - hope you're feeling a bit better today, as others have said try to give yourself a break - sometimes it can take a bit for things to catch up with you, we keep going and going while we have to and then when things slow down a little it can all hit us at once. I'm really looking foward to the new Game of Thrones as well -I download them so am trying to wait until there's a few as I know if I just watch one I won't want to wait for the next ones :o

adelight - good luck with the assignments, try not to stress too much (I know is much easier said that done!) but as LL mentioned sometimes taking even just a few mins to ourselves to recharge and recentre can make us more productive when we go back.

Sparkles - good luck with yours as well, glad you're back on the running, as someone else said probably helps to blow some studying cobwebs away as well.

Maman - wow, that's a lot of organising - do you fancy coming round to my house? :rotfl:Loving the tins, are so cute!

Bratz - hope you feel better soon hun and aren't getting too stressed out x

LW - guys will always be bemused by our creams and potions, just as we find things about them baffling :rotfl:maybe just try and push on with them and after a few times you'll both be used to them. Mind you, I say that and am being rather similar at the moment, really meant to do some fabbing last night and then ended up playing on the console with OH instead :o

Anyways, had the meeting yesterday with the Student Advisory place (thank you everyone for the kind thoughts). It didn't go too badly, the woman there was actually great, she think we might be able to claim one year's fees back as he left the last course he was on about 2 months into the second year due to health reasons so they shouldn't count that as a full year - we need to try and get evidence from the old college and his old doctor's though which is going to be quite hard work. She also thinks it's worth trying putting in a formal complaint about the way they have handled our case and the fact they took the money back from the university to see if we get some compensation towards the fees from that. Don't think it's going to be sorted anytime soon though so she's speaking to the finance people at the uni today (apparently she wants to speak to the manager and she wasn't in yesterday) to see if they can give him access back for now. So that's all good, but the bad news is that she did say that worse-case scenario they can withdraw him from the course for this - even though this year's fees have all been paid :(

On a better note, the studio shoots on Sunday went pretty well :) Had 4 people in the end, which was quite nice, and they were a good mix so some knew just what they wanted and some needed a bit of poking! One lass, bless her, was an actress but was so uncomfortable in front of the camera, whenever I asked her to smile or anything she would give me this wonderful fixed grimace :o Still, am thinking it's good experience for dealing with people like that. Was editing all day Sat and all afternoon yesterday so been a bit of a manic week in all. Straight to choir tonight as well, only two rehearsals left before the show!
