Actually Baileys I think your one of the only ones that I know of that does post on here from FB, however the issue I have is that my support was required & encouraged when the FB page was originally created, then a large number of us were dropped & it was my understanding that the group had folded, to find out later that actually someone thought they were able to play god & pick & choose who stayed & who went, because they had the power so to speak, doesnt sit right with me.
Thats absolutely the issue and I have ignored it in the past and dont want arguements with anyone, but its interesting that a reaction to a post has appeared within 12 hours but no constructive input to the board has been given for months, I rest my case regarding lurkers;)

Off to T's now & I WILL post anything I find on my return :)

    Good Morning/afternoon everyone :o

Sorry I turned the lights out on you Grumpy, I thought everyone had gone! Hope you found your beer ;)

I'm having a carp couple of days :( My Grandfather has early stage Alzheimers (amongst many other health problems) and collapsed yesterday, was taken to A&E with a suspected minor stroke and my Mum followed the ambulance to the hospital, stayed with him and my Grandmother at the hospital (they've decided to keep him in) got back to their house at 2am, was up by 8am, phoned me to explain the state of play, then received a phonecall from the hospital saying they're ignoring all rules of hosp visiting hours because he's so confused and they can't calm him down at all so could my Mum and Grandmother go in and calm him down. So my Mum who's really ill herself and spent almost the whole time I was in hospital there with me (despite me telling her to go get rest!) is running around like a blue !!! fly helping my grandparents.

I don't want to sound like a selfish and horrible cow but my grandparents are egotistical, nasty, uncaring people who haven't ever supported my Mum in anything she's done, never ask how she is, never offered a word of support during my battle with anorexia, have sworn and shouted at me telling me I've ruined the whole family's lives etc etc and now I have to witness my poor, wonderful mother who feels so worthless herself putting all of her feelings aside and doing what she's always done, putting everyone else first. It's just so hard, I know it's making her ill and I just don't know what to do. Sorry but I just needed to vent!

Regarding the posts above, I never got involved in the Facebook group, to me it's hard enough keeping up on here, let alone having something else to catch up on! But Baileys I honestly don't believe that any of these posts were directed towards you. I think it was purely the frustrations that we all sometimes feel when we're really desperate to find one of the new items posted on here, sometimes travelling a fair few miles!! :p:o only to get there and find an empty shelf. As many have said it would be lovely if everyone would join in on the community spirit on here and help people unconditionally so that we mutually benefit. And that's why I've been so pleased to see so many newbies in the past few days :hello:

Baileys we've all missed your posts on here and have been wondering how you're doing at this very difficult time. I would make a very educated guess that nobody meant any harm or offence towards you, I for one certainly didn't. :A

    Morning everyone:)
I don't usually comment too much on 'big' issues on here, i prefer in general to keep every aspect of my life, where possible, lighthearted and stress free.
I enjoy the fact that everyone (that posts) shares their finds and couldn't give a monkey's about those who lurk and take advantage of others input. No matter what is put on here it is an open forum and as such anyone at all can see the posts so it is bound to happen that people will take advantage of a great bargain.
For some that may make all the difference to how they and their families eat for the next wee while.
It is always going to be the case that in a wide demographic of people we will always have a difference of opinion on certain things, so live and let live is what I say.

Take care everyone, and enjoy the rest of your Sunday :)

    Here here Hammie! Totally agree.

I read through the pages, and post occasionally either to ask a question or help someone, but dont feel one of the regulars as i dont have time to join in with all the banter. Now I kind of feel that I must seem to be one of the lurkers:o. What with that and being chucked off the facebook group (didnt realise until now that its still up and running just for a chosen few), I feel a proper outsider now:(.

Oh my God, I actually feel sick, reading this

I'm guessing my absence is behind these posts (and others that I havent quoted). Now, before Christmas, I actually made a point of telling you all, that with OH being in Afghanistan over Christmas and New Year, I wasnt exactly 'feeling it', and that I was going to keep my misery to myself, and start posting again when it was all over.

    Clearly this wasnt enough.

It has f*** all to do with facebook. In fact, isnt it funny, the only people mentioning the facebook group, are the ones that arent actually in it. So who's causing the problems here?????

To be honest, I'm finding life tough enough as it is, without the cr*p on here. There are a couple of people who are indeed lovely. There are others who should seriously look at themselves and see if they really are 'all that'. And thats not even aimed at the OP's above.

    Good luck to you all,

(sunshine, your DD is absolutely gorgeous, be very proud x)

Baileys - when is your husband due back? Hope he stays safe xx

You are not an outsider. You are not a lurker. You are most welcome here. Come on in, take a seat and have a coffee. x

Well guys, in an attempt to change the subject..

I was given a huge bag of beef suet. I have just had casserole n dumplings for the first time (using suet, that is) and want to ask how you guys use it up.

I just saw a recipe for figgy pudding on google and am even more eager for figs after seeing Lalas piccies.

Theres quite a few porkies being told about the whole FB fiasco...one of which is that you claimed if people wanted to rejoin then they should PM you...i did that ages ago and you didnt even reply to me!! Yes, you may be busy (arent we all), but you still regularly post on FB (the 4 degrees of separation means we all know a friend of a friend of a friend so to speak)...so you must have a bit of spare time :) Also, its apparent you do now lurk on here as you replied very quickly to the remarks made on here...if you were too busy to post, then why do it now?

Far more diplomatically put than what I wrote! :D

That bloody dog is trouble! The sheep are in lamb and he managed to get hold of one of their tails.

I'm guessing you never buy whoopsied lamb then!

    Good money

Be nice if one could request a certain type of student, like a fit male one, but not too young, over 25! :rotfl:
