I know I did ask this before, and I promise not to ask again, but does anyone have any contacts at M&S that would know which day this week they are going to start their managers reductions please.

I'm a night shift tonight, and I really don't want to drive over there specially after no sleep if it isn't tomorrow! My local sells out of everything in a couple of hours, so if I get some sleep first it will be too late. :(

Sorry to be a pain in the bum! :o

What are these managers reductions at M&S, if you don't mind me asking? :o I've never heard of this in my local M&S

Did you know that drivers of automatics are a lower risk group than manual drivers? Automatic drivers have their hands on the wheel at all times, hence more likely to be in control. My defensive driving coach told me that

I feel less in control with an automatic and regardless if it's an auto or manual, I still only drive with one hand on the wheel. Sorry, I know it's not the right thing but I honestly can't drive by feeding the steering wheel through my two hands as taught in my driving lessons. I'm not some girl racer, I just find it easier to move the wheel with one hand/palm.
    Is anyone watching Criminal Minds?

    Spencer!!:eek::eek:

Where are you watching Criminal Minds as I can only see old seasons (current one is season 7). I hate it when shows stop over the holidays as I'm never sure if the Sky series link will come back.
caz I'll swap you a Tesco first steps toddler garage for it :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

I know what you mean about only the dealers stocking the parts, my car's the same. Have had a few wingmirrors borken only to be told that was were I'd to go unless I could wait 2 weeks
The last one done the night my DH died, by some a$$ hole who'd decided that because he'd fallen out with his GF he'd take it out on everyone so damaged 10 cars, some gates and plants in our street. He's just lucky the cops got him before I did. Best about it was he done it while 2 cop cars and a forensics van were outside my house so didn't take them long to pick him up :rotfl:

Deal :rotfl: Sorry about your DH but lucky they police were there as too often these days, louts get away with creating havoc and never get caught leaving it to us to either pay ourselves or pay on the insurance for damage to be repaired.
Sorry but you had me chortling away at that one. Bought some right howlers in years gone by from auctions, but some of my best ever bargains came from auctions. Just gotta know what yer looking at.

I guess your ex fell for all the spiel....like "well it is a ghia model gentlemen, complete with swinging door mirrors"..... :rotfl:

Worse than that FK - the ex thought he knew it all. He went to the auction with a list of cars I'd be interested in as I'd be driving the family car. He decided the C4 was a great option and didn't even hang around for the cars I'd actually want to drive. I admit the big boot is handy for all the glitches (especially 14 crates of beer) but I'd rather have a gear stick.

It's like driving a big scary bus at times. The worst thing is when you approach a roundabout. There are times I have been coming up to the lines, realised there's a gap and put my foot down only for the car to decide it's in the wrong gear and take too long to change and almost stall so I've had to emergency stop. I can't wait to get rid of it as that kind of thing has happened too often. I actually have to approach junctions/roundabouts and either put foot down a good 20m from the lines or stop completely. Don't know why but I could drop my old car into the right gear quicker manually than the the heap can do automatically. I obviously think too quick!

Right I'm away to get ready to head out. 'He who shall not be named' (shall I just called him Voldemort from now on?) is dropping off the boys hats he forgot to return yesterday and I'd rather not be here.
  • Thats absolutely the issue and I have ignored it in the past and dont want arguements with anyone, but its interesting that a reaction to a post has appeared within 12 hours but no constructive input to the board has been given for months, I rest my case regarding lurkers;)

Off to T's now & I WILL post anything I find on my return :)

I posted just a few days before Christmas. Funnily enough, been a bit busy since then. And you would have no doubt seen that prior to then, I posted a number of times saying that I would no longer post re FB on thread, any questions, comments or requests to join should be pm'd.
Yawn yawn yawn, the only time you come on here is to have a good old bleat about your FB group. Do us all a favour and go whinge at them, they might lend a more favourable ear.

I'll ignore your request to join then shall I? (and incidentally, you mentioned FB before I did, a couple of days ago, if i remember rightly)

Do I need to hide behind my sofa?

As far as I know it was an American that invented the auto box. And what are Americans? Lazy!

To be honest I belive it all depends wheather you enjoy the actual driving experience or if you don't give a monkey and you use your car to take you from A to B iykwim?

Bf loves driving, changing gears and all the s41t! that's why we have a manual now

I couldn't care less about it so I prefer automatic as it's less hassle and my left foot doeasn't hurt in traffic :p

I would never drive an automatic over here, you have so much more control with a manual. But in America I prefer them, they seem to suit their roads and more leisurely style of driving. Plus it's one less thing to worry about when driving on the 'wrong' side of the road.

After my nightmare with the snow the last 2 years, I keep thinking about changing to a front wheel drive, but I haven't got round to it yet. No snow this year please!

After the 'final reductions' (which are online one) they reduce everything further to a price which is at the discrection of the individual store manager. The day is usually the same nationwide, but the prices vary from store to store (and it's not online)
Last year there were coats at £15 from £100 and tops/skirts trousers all £5

There is a coats my mum and I really want, and she is on holiday, so it,s my job to try and get them! Unfortunately I dont finish work till 6am, so that would only leave time for an hours nap.

Sky have a thing called never miss, you enter the programmes that you want to see - it could be the next series or the next programme and it will send you an email a week before it is shown and from the link in the email you can press remote record. Just type the programme in here:

    http://epgservices.sky.com/nevermiss/

    HTH :)
Something unexpected happened which made me smile and still continues to make me smile.

    Morning everyone:)
I don't usually comment too much on 'big' issues on here, i prefer in general to keep every aspect of my life, where possible, lighthearted and stress free.
I enjoy the fact that everyone (that posts) shares their finds and couldn't give a monkey's about those who lurk and take advantage of others input. No matter what is put on here it is an open forum and as such anyone at all can see the posts so it is bound to happen that people will take advantage of a great bargain.
For some that may make all the difference to how they and their families eat for the next wee while.
It is always going to be the case that in a wide demographic of people we will always have a difference of opinion on certain things, so live and let live is what I say.

Take care everyone, and enjoy the rest of your Sunday :)

Thats the whole point baileys, you have consistently ignored our requests to join! I PM'd you repeatedly after you sorted out the problems and like many others my requests fell on deaf ears.

Baileys, you've been on the elite 11 thrreads long enough to know that a lot of what is said is banter....the subject of FB has been done to death and although plenty of people have issues about it and are annoyed with things that happened, nothings going to change so no point getting het up about it.

Theres quite a few porkies being told about the whole FB fiasco...one of which is that you claimed if people wanted to rejoin then they should PM you...i did that ages ago and you didnt even reply to me!! Yes, you may be busy (arent we all), but you still regularly post on FB (the 4 degrees of separation means we all know a friend of a friend of a friend so to speak)...so you must have a bit of spare time :) Also, its apparent you do now lurk on here as you replied very quickly to the remarks made on here...if you were too busy to post, then why do it now?

There are also other members on FB who used to regularly post on here, who are now very rarely on here ...or should I say post on here as I know they post on FB :)

At the end of the day, theres certainly a lot of conflict over the FB site...its initial intentions were great, but the attitude and behaviour of certain people since its creation have left a lot to be desired. :(

I am not insensitiive to your situation - my husband served 23 years in the army and did many different tours away from us...it is hard....but its not a reason to take out any other issues on everyone else.

If you and others dont feel comfortable potiing on here, then dont, its simple...but lets not keep going down the same path as its clearly leading to nowhere :)
hoping for a very MSE Ts glitching 2012!
