Oh, I thought you meant when you were stopped at traffic lights and junctions etc.:o
Oooh no lights stay on at all times other than parking/stopping completely. My OH keeps telling me to turn lights off all together when I park up so that I know to turn them back on when I set off but I don't want to get into trouble, suppose it's lesser of two evils and parking with no lights is the better option!
I thought it was an offence to park in the face of oncoming traffic, or at least that's what the cops told me when I witnessed an accident in my street early last year.
I think you are right, it's actually quoted in the bit I posted :)

Everything will be ok in the end, and if it isn't ok then it isn't the end :)

I am old and a grandmother so I just don't understand why people have tattoos! I just want to give them a smack and tell them that they will regret it! With lots of shakes of the head!

    Parking at night

    248

You MUST NOT park on a road at night facing against the direction of the traffic flow unless in a recognised parking space.

[Laws CUR reg 101 & RVLR reg 24]
    249

All vehicles MUST display parking lights when parked on a road or a lay-by on a road with a speed limit greater than 30 mph (48 km/h).

ETA: Please do not think I am being a smart @rse by posting that, it's just what I was taught, though I did have A LOT of instructors and I only passed in July.

you'd beamazed at how many police officers are unaware of the requirement to park with lights on in an area witha 40mph limit (or above). The next village down from where my OH lives has a limit of 40mph but nobody uses lights despite its darkness and many drivers even park the wrong way!

I mentioned it to a traffic cop one day during a 'chat' and he was unaware it was required but would look into it. Dangerous in that village as its dead straight and particularly at night nobody keeps to 40. If there is an oncoming car preventing you using main beams, such vehicles don't appear until you are almost upon them.

    I know your lurking! :p:p

Does the name Scott Tulloch mean anything to you or your kids?

Hi HC  I'm trying to catch up after my long weekend away - almost there now.
That name doesn't ring any bells with me, have had a look on kids FB and don't see him in any of their friends either, sorry.

If you can't eat it or play with it ....... just pee on it and walk away.

All of my tattoos have a meaning to me, although there are a few that I wish I didn't get but each one reminds of something I went through, be it good or bad :)
I know that are not everyone's cup of tea...
Although my OH has one I hate with a passion. He got drunk one day and him and his former best friend got sort of matching tattoos, his says Bell (friends surname)...prizes fro guessing where :p

I think the term park involves leaving your vehicle unlit. I don't think it includes pulling up to let people alight etc. Not 100% on that one though.

How things have changed. My dad (born 1924)had a dragon tattooed on his arm during the war and was always ashamed of it. He always kept his arm covered and looked at having it removed but couldn't afford it. He would now be very trendy if he were alive to enjoy it in these days!:)
    Awaiting a new sig

You sound just like my dad when he saw my first one:)

I think it's a very personal thing for most.
Like Beki my tattoos all have a special significance to me and I have them in areas where they are not on display for all to see, (except for when I post pictures on a public forum obviously :rotfl:)

I will consider myself smacked and bid you all a good night as I am so tired I could fall asleep at the laptop.
