For the butter - I popped 2 of the tubs into a big bowl and whisk on high until the whisks are almost "seized" and you think what the hell its all gone wrong, but a minute later it suddenly goes all "slack" (Stop tittering at the back!!") add salt if needed now (dont add salt if freezing) quickly turn off the whisk and drain the liquid off (its buttermilk if you want to use it for other things) then add about half a mug of ice cold water either whisk (be careful as its very splattery) or kneed do this 3-4 times until the water isnt milky then squeeze the water out and freeze/pop in the fridge

    Simplez :)

Just did the last 2 (did 6 in total) and each 500ml yeilds about ¾lb of butter as I weighed it :) got 6 lots of 210grams frozen for the Mary Berry cake mixes and loads of salted butter in the fridge :)

Nikkilala how can you be planning to go to tescos tonight when you are hosting my birthday party!!!!

Happy birthday Karen, mine is tomorrow and I hate it how do you find having yours on nye?

Went to slough yesterday, the Sony headphones are there with ood sel, I didn't get them as oh was moaning about time so if anyone is near there was lots of different colours, sel 4.97 scanning at 7.97 so dtd makes free and a pound off profit, also lots of the coffee machine cleaner things saw 5 clipstrips but didn't get any as don't drink coffee!

Hope this makes sense as on iphone!

I bought the coffe things today as I read someone had used them for the kettle, but I cant find the post now. Has anyone else used these for the kettle please? Thanks IA

Happy New Year to all lovely moneysavers here!

    Excellent, well done! :T

Keep an eye out for the pork shoulders in the same sort of packaging. If the SEL says 2,49 per kilo but the pack says 5.49 per kilo then they pay you a couple of quid to take it away. :)
  • I made a note from a previous post 'Japan Tatami Ambi Pur for £1.27' - is this the reed diffuser one that shows online at £7 or is it a plug-in thing?

    Many thanks.

Its a plug in....box is black and a sort of grass green.

Well put Kadison, agree whole-heartedly with you. Cant find the original post else I would report it too, as I find it offensive.

What a revolting person to allow their dog to do this and then to brag about it.

They did say in an earlier post that they've destroyed three settees this year too and trashed their home. Sounds like they are made for each other! ;)

They also mention the dogs biting visitors to the house, poor dogs need rehoming to someone who can train them before someone court-orders them to be destroyed, can't be far away with this behaviour!

I bought 6 tubs of double cream last night down from £1.90 to 19p, this is what 2 of the tubs have yeilded, so ½ lb butter for around 19p :) I salted the one I will use for now the others that are being frozen will be unsalted (Will use them in the cake mixes)

Thats a really fab haul, well done!

Without wishing to sound like a sourpuss though, 21 packs of sandwich meat??? Do you really need all that?

I get some whopping hauls but often leave tons and tons of stuff. In morrisons the other night I could have have 4o or 50 packs or sarnie ham, 15 or 20 packs of pork pies, dozens of packs sausage rolls etc etc, but its only a bargain if you will actualy use it. I could have filled a trolley with it all, but took just a carrier bag full.

If it sits in the bottom of a freezer till it gets so frost bitten its inedible then its not a bargain! :D

As I say, not having a go, just suggesting when we all go whoopsying that we should try not to get too carried away. :)

One thing I do like about whoopsies though is the opportunity to try things I wouldnt normal try. Its hard to warrant 4.99 or something for a posh ready meal, not knowing if you'll like it or not, but when its 50p its worth trying. I've found quite a few new things I like eating this way.

21 packets of ham would last just over a month in my house:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:We work from home and have sarnies everyday so use a packet a day:eek::eek::eek::eek:I have a special tray in the freezer purely for sandwich stuff:p:p:pHave learnt not to buy the sliced beef though, it goes slimy when you defrost it;) I very rarely touch the bakery or bread whoopsies because they're the ones that I end up not using and giving to my mum.
    Beware!!!! Glitching is addictive:rotfl:
